...was thrown from the West End and hit the ref, very funny, anybody else remember it? Must have been late 70's/80's.

No but remember being at Wolves in the 60s when a meat pie was thrown as we were taking a corner and hit the Wolves goalie, Fred Davies right on the side of his ear much to the amusement of not only us fans but a number of players also, Davies was not one of them.

I remember Killer doing shooting practice before a game at HR, hit a shot just wide we ducked but the lad behind didn't, poor fella, pie into the face, specs on the floor and blood from the nose was the outcome... St Johns took him away with Killer trying not to piss his shorts acting all concerned...

A friend of mine was Kicked out of the City Ground for throwing a pie at the linesman, police lifted him so his missus went over and shouted 'if your arresting my husband, you can arrest me!'. The copper collared them both and ejected them out of thr ground! It was funny and took the misery away from the game!

My mate cared more about the welfare of his pie than himself against preston a few years back , he protected it beautifully whilst rolling down several steps after we scored
