I always thought that when Cov was referred to it was the rugby team and we were the City or Sky Blues, I don't like Coventry being shortened, Brummies do it and it drives me nuts...am I alone in this? It makes me wince a little when I here the keep Cov in Cov...although I obviously agree with the sentiments of the campaign, just not the name, Keep City in Coventry?
I know we have had crossed words in the past but on this I couldn't agree more. And Keep City in Coventry would help us extend the campaign wider than the midlands - most Londoners wouldn't have a clue what Cov is!! PS did you make it to the march ??
I can think of a few things higher on my niggle list Rev.
I'm old school and I use, and have absolutely no problem with, the term Cov.
City could be anyone and the 'Sky Blues' is Ok but more wince worthy than Cov in my humble opinion.
Much higher on my list are stories about the 'Sky Blues' on newsnow that turn out to actually be about Manchester City.
Cov means Cov, although I do concede that Cov does usually refer to the rugby team.
Top of my list though is trying to type on these stupid touch screen tablets.
Utter waste of time and energy.
I've been 'typing' this for several hours.

Yes I did thank you, with my 5 year old, he loved it...it brought back a few good memories walking with such a big crowd from Gosford to town, lots of faces from old too.
Glad you made it and had a great experience with your kid. I wasn't going to come up from London but on the morning my wife could see I was agitated and dying to go and offered to look after the little ones for the day - so I dived in the car and just made it for the first chorus of the Sky Blue Song. It was a brilliant day and, like you, really enjoyed catching up with lots of old mates and even people i had chatted to for 25 years. Reminded us all that we are the football club!!
agreed
I hate it when people say "Leamington"
Its Royal Leamington Spa...
The most annoying thing for me which has been mentioned is the national tabloids calling Man City 'Sky Blues'. Im sorry for fuck off with that.
Wonder what fans of Borussia Monchengladbach shorten their name to? :thinking about:
And me they have it plastered all over their stadium in 40 foot letters...I thought they were the Citizens?

Here's me thinking i was the only one who gets irritated by this. I find non sky blues in Nuneaton refer to us as Cov alot.I always thought that when Cov was referred to it was the rugby team and we were the City or Sky Blues, I don't like Coventry being shortened, Brummies do it and it drives me nuts...am I alone in this? Man City wore sky blue many years before us but have never used the term to describe themselves , maybe they think theres going to be a gap in the market for that nickname soon !I don't think they have ever been that have they? I've heard 'the Citizens', 'the blues' ?. I may be wrong though.

Like it !Not true we wore it in 1889 and they first wore it in 1890.

This is where JH got the idea for using Sky Blue...
Forget sisu it's Manchester we should be protesting in.
Those scum bags are stealing our nickname.
We're being eradicated from history from all sides.
For god's sake everyone just bugger off and leave us alone.
Bring back the Bantams!
Not true we wore it in 1889, and they first wore it as Gorton in 1890.
