Can you answer the question?
Euroscepticism was hardly something new in UK politics.

It's not just about Euroscepticism though, it's about taking a party from what people thought were a laughing stock, to one that forced the hand of the tories, to not only getting a vote, but winning it, and then becoming a genuine opposition party within what? 20 years?

It's about snake oil selling charlatans exploiting people's frustration with poor local economies and telling them that Johnny Foreigner is all to blame.

No, it's about people's eyes finally being opened. It's about your gran not being able to put her heating on whilst the government pay hundreds of thousands putting Johnny foreigner in the ibis. It's about hospitals being over ran and months of waiting lists while Johnny foreigner who's paid nothing towards it is taking up a space in the queue.

Reform now 7 seats away from taking Warwickshire council. Wonderful.

Its worrying. Been banging on about it for years, ignore the publics wishes on stuff like immigration, law and order etc and we’ll see the rise of populism.

Brexit was the first message delivered, people still think they’ve been ignored, throw in inflation/cost of living issues since the Ukraine war and public services being on their arse and it’s not surprising that people look elsewhere for answers

If anyone thinks the historically smaller parties like reform and greens have the answers, they’re mad. Both live in fantasy worlds.

Public services on their arse while Reform are championing Musk-style slashing of...public services.

Racist, mysogonistic Conservatives will not tend to vote for her. Reform is the home for these people and those persuaded by the rhetoric of stopping the boats.

I think you’re ignoring the perhaps more important fact that regardless of her sex and race she’s absolutely useless.

UKIP didn't win anything. It was Johnson/Cummings more than anyone else who was responsible for the Brexit victory.

You're right about the hospitals, full of foreigners. Mostly working in them of course, but still.
Who's going to work in the hospitals if we send all the foreigners home?

Believe it or not, less johnny foreigners using the service generally means less people needing to offer the service. It balances itself out. But let's ignore that fact and just call everyone racist because they don't want foreign born (often illegals) using a service you've paid into your entire life having not paid anything into it themselves.
You send the illegals home and stop people having not paid to the NHS using it and it'll soon right itself. Unless you've lived, worked and paid tax and NI for at least 2 years you should have to go private. That takes a he'll of a strain of the NHS and people will start getting proper treatment again. Shorter waiting list and so on and so on. And if then it comes to a point we need no more health care from abroad, we stop letting them come over. If we need them, then they can apply for a visa. Simple

Regardless of who won it, it was UKIP that forced it. But that doesn't matter. We can gloss over that bit!
It wasn't Borris who forced the vote. It's was Cameron, fearing losing votes to UKIP gave the UKIP voters their wish. That wasn't Borris' doing!

Not sure your maths works out.

According to this about 2.5m foreigners use the NHS:

They see about 1.3m people a day. So roughly 1/157 is foreigners taking that over a whole year.

According to this 20% of the workforce is foreign, so 1/5.

https://commonslibrary.parliament.u... NHS staff are, staff with a known nationality.

So you’d lose 30 times the capacity that you gain.

Yes, illegals, people in this country without a visa. Usually via a boat or lorry crossing. Illegals. You should look it up. Might learn a thing or 2. Suppose in an expensive part of the country like Brighton though you don't see it. Shame, I reckon Brighton would look great over run with Somalian and Afghan gangs.

How is Farage, who is very much part of the establishment and mainstream politics, changing things?
I think that while there’s nothing especially novel or revolutionary about Farage’s politics, he nevertheless clearly represents an alternative to the political mainstream by openly embracing the kind of nationalist and anti-immigrant views that the main parties have typically seen as taboo. I am pretty certain he’ll be Prime Minister one day.

But if they're here on a work visa with a right to work, how are you losing 1/5 of the workforce? Unless all the NHS staff are illegally here without visas? But thats right, I forgot, I don't want ANY foreigner here because I'm a racist biggot that voted leave. Of course. So i clearly want EVERY foreign born person (including my Grandad) out the country including the 1/5 of NHS workers!

The real snake oil selling charlatans is the neoliberal political class post-Tony Blair.

The electorate has been voting consistently for lower immigration and government after government has failed to deliver.

Gut instinct tells me it’s too late to head off a Reform surge, Labour and the Tories have had their chance.

Whilst a lot of this is whiff, I have often wondered why we don’t make use of National Insurance cards in healthcare.

Most immigration at the moment is either for higher education or to work in sectors where British workers either lack the skills or desire to do the jobs. Aside from binning off a big wedge of universities, it will take a long time and a commitment to improving the pay and conditions in the relevant job sectors.

I for one would rather the UK weren't so reliant on foreign labour, skilled or unskilled, but the electorate while seemingly agreeing on that, also doesn't want to put the money or work in to make it happen.

2021 isn't a valid comparison, that was in the wake of covid when the general belief was that the conservatives had done a great job
They did a terrible job, blowing half a trillion on ridiculous unneeded measures and inflicting a novel and dangerous injection onto people.

No, SickBoy said my problem was Johnny foreigner. And to an extent, it is. Anyone, foreign born that is taking more from the system than putting into it is a problem. Illegal or otherwise. But because I say I'm anti immigration (mass immigration) the woke left automatically assume I'm racist and want everyone foreign to fuck off! Assume, make an ASS of U not ME!
Anyone who is here to work, and pay into the NHS and the economy is more than welcome, regardless of age, sex, race, gender or ethnicity. Unfortunately you'll always have people (including British born) that will take the piss and abuse the system. Unfortunately we can't send the British piss takers to Rawanda, but people that have broken the law multiple times to cross on a boat we should.

No, but are they still claiming asylum having already passed through 5 or 6 non war countries before illegally gaining access to the boat that illegally bought them to the UK? Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Austria, Germany. Just a number of countries passed through before arriving in France. EVERY single one could be used to claim asylum. So by the time they illegally gaining a ticket for a boat to illegally enter the UK, that ship of "asylum seeking" has LOOOOOONG passed!
