To be fair 0.5% for the month would 6% pa if annualised. The problem at the moment is it’s the bond yields increasing cost of borrowing meaning less money to spend (unless you tax more….or print more/debase currency)….and these are being impacted by tariff/global mess

I agree though it doesn’t make too much sense making important decisions based on shit short term data from ONS. Still good news at face value though

It’s that if that gives me pause. History tells me its more likely to be cancelled out next month than compounded.

The rail minister has admitted using his mobile phone while driving a vintage double-decker bus through London at rush hour.
Have you ever read a more British sentence. No doubt he'll keep his job although how the fuck Hendy wasn't fired for some of the other shit he's got up to is beyond me.

Im not being funny but how were they ever granted asylum previously ? it’s this type of shit that makes a shambles of a party like reform popular

Is it that hard to legislate that anyone who comes here can only be granted asylum if they don’t have a criminal record (at a certain level) and if they commit a crime whilst being here they are returned to their country of origin ? Fair play to the government for trying to address a bit of this but I’m genuinely shocked this is only happening now

If the ECHR does not allow for this position than serious questions need to be asked as it’s hardly unreasonable

I have a cheap way to solve lots of this.

If they're here illegally and have a criminal past, who would miss them? Asking for a friend ;)

The NGO weirdos who help them get into the country in the first place and then give them legal advice on how to stay in.

Weirdos giving legal advice even when not qualified to do so. Should be expatriated with their client, might make them think twice. How do they manage to win their cases? If they don’t know what they are doing.
Mind you, Starmer has made prime minister which shows anything is possible for senior legal professionals.

Tgese people are either being given information about their rights in law and ensuring those laws are followed or they’re not and it’ll make no difference. I’ve never got the pearl clutching (other than the obvious fact you’ve been told to clutch your pearls and am complying like a good little boy).

If you don’t like the immigration rules campaign to change them not to remove people’s access to a fair legal system FFS.

Listen to Rob Beckett and Josh widdicombe podcast makes me laugh
He was invited to Downing Street on St George’s day as well as many people involved in charity etc and starmer was saying how he’s a servant and is paid to work here but the givebrment is owned and funded by the people and I thought that’s so great
Not in the public domain though is it and we do need competent law making etc as well as photo ops

I’m hoping an absolute tonking in the local elections might make Labour realise no one voted for their pound shop Tory schtick.

I don’t hold much hope however.
I can see Reform doing really well this time around.

Labour - party in government, not impressing so protest vote.
Tories - basically disappeared under Badenoch and have done nothing to sugest to people they're better than the shambles we kicked out.

Plus local elections I think people don't take a seriously and are happy to use it to vote for fringe candidates or make a protest vote. "it's just about emptying the bins and making the street lights work".

Should that happen though I really think there is a chance before the next election that Farage joins the Tories, Badenoch gets ousted for him and he ends up fighting the next GE as Tory leader.

They’ll just do nothing and blame it all on Labour and Tories like usual. Our local candidate is all over Facebook ranting about immigrants and the NHS. Not sure what that’s got to do with Bedworth but people will vote how they’ve been told.

Not sure if it's the same one but is it the one who looks about 18, probably wears trousers above the ankles and took a briefcase to school?

Definite briefcase wanker. Called George I think as well. You shouldn’t be in politics under 40 IMO. That 13 year old SNP MP was a joke too. What do you know about life? Get back to your PlayStation.

Yeah, I did think about putting something funny as a reply but then remembered it's 2025 and I'd be in jail for the comedy genius comments.

Thanks for the advice. I assume you will be fully signed up to the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on the biological application of the term male and female. In your world we should all be getting behind the outcomes and processes of fair legal systems.
I have to spoil the sentiment by reminding myself that not everything legal is necessarily also fair.

As events show Reform are utter fruitcakes and loonies. Mainly racist, biggotted old gammon men ex-Tory & Unionist voters with few braincells or solutions, who essentially just hate the colour of Badenough.
Regorm getting support in response to outrageous misinformation from Daily Mail and social media where such great citizens, with little or no kind or compassionate bones in their bodies, get wound up and provoked in an echo chamber of dispair, doom and gloom about anecdotal opinions on crime, invasion, gender, new housing, art, farming, flag flying, cyclists, climate change, BBC, protectors, and Councils amongst other matters.
They essentially hate their country and can't be arsed to read or research anything from scientists or proper journalists or media outlets on anything.

Well said. 3 more years playstation and oven ready to vote, unless that’s another flip that’s flopped. It does seem to have gone quiet on that score.
