Grendel defending Corbyn, the circle is complete

That's great, but he also suffered the worst election defeat in 90 odd years at the last one.

He is poison to so many.

The tories will use the Corbyn attack line regardless.
They'll use the 2008 financial crisis, they'll use any old shit.
This is petty minded from someone who so far hasn't actually offered any meaningful alternative up to now.

He probably will, but that's not the point. I'm not doubting his popularity in Islington.

I'll chuck 20 quid to charity right now though if you want.

If Starmers success or otherwise in the next GE depends on Corbyns status within the party then he's in trouble.
Once again he created an unnecessary distraction that's benefitting no one but the tories.

Labour were polling in the lead as late as May 2019. It went off a cliff when Starmer got his PV plan through.
Corbyn was weak and should have sacked Starmer and stuck to his original 2017 manifesto commitment.

The country has largely forgotten Corbyn, funnily enough the only thing keeping him in the press is Starmer’s vendetta against him

Fuck Corbyn, all he had to do was accept that Labour were really shit at tackling antisemitism under his watch and he'd still be a labour MP.

He didn't so he isn't, knowing people in Islington the idea he wins as an independent could be very wrong. A lot of the locals are more moderate than he is.

Don't involve him on the front bench or in nationwide campaigns then. I think having Corbyn as an independent will get far more media and prove way more of a distraction. Also a good chance that Labour could lose the seat because of it.

There are far more important issues to be spending time on than Corbyn.

It’s nonsense. If the electorate won’t put Labour in because Corbyn is pottering around in North London it says far more about Starmer’s inability to offer any kind of incentive or reason to vote for him.

Do better

If a single backbench MP popular with his constituents keeping his seat is enough to make them not vote for Labour I'd suggest it's people looking for any excuse to not vote for Labour. Half of those that would say they didn't vote for Labour because Corbyn stayed would probably also say they couldn't vote for labour because they were focusing on internal power struggles rather than the big issues facing the country if they get rid of him.

I made that post in 2017!

I wouldn’t vote for Michael Foot, Lord Anthony Wedgewood Benn or Neil Kinnock but I can see the contribution made in politics

Again it’s the binary black and white childlike approach that exposes you

Actually I don’t have to - the joy of the fact my vote is anonymous.

But seeing as we talking about it, tell me about why I should.

Is he supporting my profession as we try to secure a fair deal for pay and security for the future?

Is he providing any kind of meaningful platform that will see a step change in the future for my (our) children?

He has shown more vitriol to Corbyn and people sticking themselves to roads than he ever has to the Tories… tell me why that is?
