Faisal Islam has just tweeted along these lines. Could well be the case.

John Curtice is saying the same - It also looks like The Tories have only got around 36% of the vote so it's not as great as the press makes out.

It’s also interesting that despite the leader having the charisma of a fish he seems generally well respected. Perhaps another BSB emigration destination

PVA owns a cafe in a very working class village

Other than him no middle class people live there. Then one moves in.

Thing is PVA only sells tripe and onions - working class food for the working class yeah?

He has to get google out and thinks middle classes might like a smoked salmon and cheese bagel (whole meal of course)

His pensioner regulars sit down on day one and order salmon bagels

PVA doesn’t get it. “What you don’t one that it’s not for you”

They just say they want it.

“What do you like about it”

“never tried it”

“YOU HAVE TO TELL ME WHY YOU LIKE IT!”

“Can’t be any worse that that shit you’ve been serving we only come here as there’s no one else”

“NOT GOOD ENOUGH TELL ME WHY YOU WANT IT! you have to have working class food unless you give me a good reason! I’m bringing you tripe and your eating it you dumb, senile racist bunch of tosses”

We are leaving and we will go to another village and try salmon

PVA than rages when no one goes in any more as I mean he’s only feeding them the same old shite theyve always eaten

Poor PVA the only middle class man in the village

I think it was Grendel's attempt to reach out to you through allegory, as all attempts at reasoned, conversationalist debate had proved impossible.

But I'd ask what is the further point? You aren't here for that but to scream and scream until you feel you've had the last say. I get that you are an angry man, but I cannot see how your style of engagement helps you or your cause.

What?

All I wanted was an answer to a simple question. That's the very definition of a chat room/forum. I'll stop asking it as soon as someone can answer it.

It's not my fault that no one can answer it.

they probably think people like me are twats for voting Labour, the same way you think they are twats for voting Tory ... if they simply don't like Labour very much , then that's the answer .
If it was all about policies etc then more people would vote Labour but they don't.

You've made this much harder than it needs to be .

The people voting for the tories probably like them more , it's as simple as that .
You simply have to accept that Labour are not very well liked in England...or Scotland for that matter

I said the other week they're about as likeable as a fart in a bottle of water ...turns out that's the case .

Big changes needed

The left is fractured between 3 or 4 parties , the centre/ right isn't.

This doesn't help at all

It's at the point where the libs , Labour and the greens need to start looking at some sort of coalition

Holy shit.

Doesn't matter whether it's Keir Starmer, Jeremy Corbyn, or Mr Blobby as leader of the opposition, how can you win when the general public say things like this

Liverpool voted in favour of Remaining in the EU. Labour is haemorrhaging votes in areas that are working class and voted Leave i.e. the Red Wall seats.

If the current trend of Brexit Party votes in 2019 being distributed 3/4 to 1 to the Tories, the situation is bleak for Labour.

Why would it be?

The bigger headline is obviously Labour losing council seats up and down the country and a by-election in a constituency that was considered a ‘safe seat’.

Pockets of Labour performing well should not detract from a fundamentally bad election night.

The party is in real danger of ceasing to be a meaningful political force after the next election if the current trends continue.

The problems with elections is that you are asking the general population to vote on something that a good proportion don't really understand.

The only good thing about Democracy is its intrinsic natures; Liberty and Equality.

It is a shame political parties don't value these as high as they should do.
