It's the ignorance and stupidity that gets me. How can voters feel that people like this are fit to govern us and will take sensible decisions which will be for the good of us and the country. The interviewer even asked him after this if he was sure about what he had said but he saw nothing wrong.

This is a guy from a privileged background and education yet he has no idea what misogyny means. This is almost as bad as Priti Patel talking about tackling counter-terrorist offenders.

How us Raab still there after the Afgan debacle?

Don't forget that when he was Brexit Secretary he said he didn't realise that Dover-Calais was an important crossing for trade/goods.

Also why in a discussion about violence against women does he feel the need to talk about women acting badly towards men? It's all a bit "all lives matter". Given the recent cases this is a disgraceful line to take.

Going to have to wash after defending Raab but he said “insults and misogyny” not just “misogyny”.

This is a perfectly valid point however.

Is Hancock doing a fringe event on fidelity and the importance of the family unit? We’re at those kind of bat-shit levels.

TBF he’s got a point. Same with homophobia. It’s wrong towards straight people and gay people.

When did ‘I don’t like Keir Starmer’ turn into ‘I’m voting Tory’?

Agreed, unless Johnson/government delivers in next three years, they will lose a load of seats. Labour just needs to present a credible opposition in the coming years (unfortunately this is not guaranteed).

What I don’t understand is some quick/easy wins which the government miss. Either leave the UC increase on for at least the winter especially as there’s high inflation (the extra cash will almost certainly be spent rather than saved which also helps economy in bumpy times) or if it is removed do it in conjunction with announcing a significant increase in warm home discount scheme and additional support for those that need it most.

Ps saw first episode of Blair & Brown doc on bbc earlier in the week. Decent watch if anyone’s interested

LAB +2
GRN +6

Come the next election perhaps I'd rather have a Green MP who gives a toss about his constituents than one who ignores them.

It’s beyond crazy that people actually fall for thinking Johnson and the rest of the cabinet are men and women of the people.

What makes them think that De Pfeffel is ‘in touch with them’. It’s amazing how many fall for the vacuous slogans.

He's hardly a man of the people bu to call him sleazy, untrustworthy and out of touch when the alternative is Boris really is taking the piss.

As for Labour not being able to be trusted with the economy. Have they not noticed what's happening with it right now.

But will the candidate be male at the next election?

Anyway, just joshing. Of course it will, statistically speaking.

Highly likely, however I do believe Liz Truss polls very highly among CV Conservative party members.

It's fucking infuriating!

People just seem to think if someone in a position of authority has a plummy voice they are trustworthy and are fit to rule over us.

Boris is now King Boris.
The people (well about 40% of voters) believe in a variation of the divine right of kings. He is entitled to rule. If things go wrong he must replace courtiers but rally the faithful with rousing speeches like Henry V against the French.
The rest of us have to wait until some of the 40% lose their faith or a progressive alliance gives us PR.

The main opposition party won’t support PR though, which is ironic seeing as they haven’t got a cat in hells chance of winning a majority outright under FPTP.
