Having seen from various colleagues how hard it is to get indefinite leave to remain, I find it hard to believe that they are the group of migrants who most need clamping down on. You need to speak the language, have a job, do the citizenship test etc.

There's obviously a need to have rental properties available for people that want them but the difference in monthly cost between buying and renting is way off. Even after my mortgage shot up when I renewed its still about £600pm cheaper than renting in the same street.There's a thing that troubles me here and that as you know is buy to let or HMO's they bring nothing good to a community,and the idea that it is a business model to base our economy around is frankly a blocking of any aspirations of owning your own sorry and all that but it's exploitation pure and simple unless they have a charter that they only ask £50+to £100 more a month than their mortgage cost as over the lifetime of ownership it potentially is a market that can't fail?
