I doubt Starmer will be leading Labour into the next election.

We’re not an island of strangers. The reason everyone feels like a stranger to you is because you’re a massive prick who nobody likes. You’re just lonely.

We are in a social media storm no idea when it will end or what damage it will do but any election from now is not the same as it has been throughout our lives

Are people on here admitting to Reform having success now? Last time I came on this thread was the morning after the local election landslide and a massive amount on here were denying it and saying it hadn't been a good night and they'd not done as well as expected.

Masked protesters rocking up with signs on a weekday to attack police and harass random people, including an elderly woman…..are these the good kind of protesters? Or maybe we should consider proscribing them as terrorists? I’ve lost track of which tier I should be applying here.

Hotel protest escalated into 'mindless thuggery', Essex Police say

Yes they should be proscribed. Same as the anti ULEz types. They’re committing serious property damage with the aim of changing government policy. That’s textbook terrorism.

Still think they won’t break the fascist barrier of 30%. Seen nothing to suggest otherwise.

No doubt if and when any are arreseted and charged we will hear complaints of two-tier policing

Why not?
The Terrorism Act 2000 defines terrorism, both in and outside of the UK, as the use or threat of one or more of the actions listed below, and where they are designed to influence the government, or an international governmental organisation or to intimidate the public. The use or threat must also be for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause.

The specific actions included are:
  • serious violence against a person;
  • serious damage to property;
  • endangering a person's life (other than that of the person committing the action);
  • creating a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public; and
  • action designed to seriously interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

Well to be honest it’s down to the police and CPS to define if this is terrrorism through a cause that meets the criteria. I just see a mob of people triggered by an incident and I think they are likely to be charged on that basis

I don’t think they will

I don’t think it’s terrorism either tbh, but I do think these people pose a clearer threat to public safety than various other people who’ve been arrested for terror offences recently. I assume you’d agree?

The people who have been arrested have been so - as you well know - because they have identified themselves as identifying with a prescribed terrorist organisation.

You can argue all day long if Palestine Action should or should not be classed as such (I think it should) but if you then blatantly show support for the cause you know what’s coming.

I’m not questioning why they’ve been arrested, I’m questioning if they’re a greater threat to public safety than these protesters in Epping. So you disagree with me then?

I live fairly near a migrant hotel.

Has crime gone up? Statistically proven it’s rocketed. The local shop was raided every day. The local village pub was a no go zone.

Would I want more Neanderthals turning up protesting and making it worse. No I wouldn’t.

It’s a wholly in inappropriate location to house these people.

Palestine Action as a cause I believe is a threat to democracy due to its direct action against our establishment - so of course it is.

I’m not talking about the cause, I’m talking about the people who were arrested - they really keep you up at night more than the violence on your doorstep?

'a threat to democracy'? Was there a referendum on arming Israel that I missed that their actions are threatening the delivery of? jfc.

Far right support tends to top out at about 30%. Beyond that the outright racism and climate denial makes them unappealing. This is fine in a European PR system or the US where half the country is already racist and in denial, but less so in the UK which has FPTP but more European social attitudes than US.

We’ve been over this. You can attack the police as long as they aren’t in direct eyeline of a police station. It’s all in the tenth edition rule book.

I’m not sure you understand what that word means, which is par for the course TBF.

If you think the UK is the US with the US’s racial politics just because people are upset about immigration, or that the UK isn’t hugely supportive of climate action because you’re stuck in a Twitter bubble with Spectator writers and bots, you’ve got a rude awakening coming.

Again, I am not. To my knowledge PA have not physically harmed a single person, but have been deemed terrorists for spray painting a plane. Israel has killed nearly 60,000 people, destroyed most buildings in the Gaza Strip, blockaded food and medical supplies and declared that it wishes to put all Gazans into a concentration camp.

Our government struggles to call that a criminal act. Why?

It’s irrelevant as no western government does. Why you struggle with this I have no idea. The government has a view. Criminal damage against military equipment has to be punished. No government would tolerate it

Fully agree it is criminal damage and they should take the punishment for that. Simply disagree with it being classed as terrorism.

No western government calling out the war crimes doesn’t mean they aren’t crimes.

It meets the guidelines of terrorism - it’s defined as terrorism. Anyone who continues to associate with them is a terrorist whatever your own opinion is.
