Che Guevara was also an out and out racist - it’s funny when some dopey left wing twats would say Churchill was racist while wearing a T Shirt with the idiot with Frank Spencer beret stuck on his head

Exactly.

Karl Marx also had some views on race that would give David Duke a run for his money. Even by the standards of the time.

Unfortunately, I used to proudly own a Che Guevara T-shirt and proudly posed with it on stood next to a Karl Marx statue in Berlin years ago. We all make mistakes in life.

Fuck me Gadaffi apologists now too?

Some of you lot seriously need to actually meet people from these countries. The stories you’ll hear will whip the edgy support for anti west govt out of you.

No need for quite a nasty response tbh. Do you go round telling people they’ve OD’d on drugs in person or only when you’re behind your smartphone or keyboard?

No one is supporting Gadaffi but what has his removal actually achieved other than more corruption and tyranny? I don't think Libyans are waving the star spangled banner.

I know 2 Iranians and I know people who worked there.
No ones defending the regime, merely hilighting that unless we alter our foreign policy we'll keep putting these despots in place, but I think you know that, if you don't then you're probably not as clever as you think you are.

Fuck all to do with clever. This is heart not head. You don’t make apologies for brutal regimes. There’s nothing socialist about that.

The communist to far right pipeline is pretty common. See Michael Gove and the entirety of the Spiked staff.

People drawn to simplistic world views tend to stay drawn to simplistic world views you might hypothesise.

It's like any criticism of what the Israelis are doing in Gaza and the West Bank makes you a Hamas supporter.

No ones apologised for the Iranian regime, merely pointed out that we'll keep making the same mistakes if we keep taking the same approach to foreign policy.
It wasn't that long ago we were backing the Al Nusra front, (uner a pseudonym), in Syria.

So we're not learning.

Are you calling me far right?

For god’s sake you need to learn what far right actually is. Spoiler: it’s not a term to weaponise when someone disagrees with you.

The way you’re making far too many assumptions about people you don’t know or their background is a sign of ignorance.

I’ve said on this thread that there are policies that I’d vote Labour for.

Side note: brandishing the term ‘far right’ like it’s nothing devalues the phrase when you come across people who are actually far right and nasty pieces of work.

No one is making excuses either. The fact is the West arm Saudi Arabia and they arm Israel as they see these regimes as beneficial. Its abject nonsense. The funny thing the Shmmees dribbling love child accuses me of Islamaphobia but now it seems I am in fact supporting an Islamic state

These regimes keep Iran in check, which contributes towards maintaining the balance of power.

Same reason the UK and France supported the Ottomans over Crimea despite finding the regime a bit sketchy, balance of power.

I didn't say history was not comparable, I was simply giving a historical reference to the MO of balancing of powers.
