disparate attacking and defensive records (4 Viewers)

Looking at the league table today it strikes me that while our scoring record puts us at the top end of the table our defensive record is 8th worst. Its brilliant that we are out scoring teams at the moment, but for a serious charge up the table we need to be more solid at the back.

Having not seen the team much this season, what do people feel needs adding to the current set up?

A stadium in Coventry and a partisan but supportive 20k attendance? : )

Our defensive record in the first few games was shocking. Suspect over the last ten games that it doesn't compare too badly with sides in the top half.

During August we conceded 12 in 5. September 6 in 4. October has seen 4 in 5 conceded. Take out the crazy Bristol and Preston results and its not too bad. Is all the better when you consider We started with Willis and Clarke then Webster came in without a pre season here.

I agree, our defense record is already improving.

Statistics - we conceded 8 goals in 2 home games but collected 4 pts. The last column is the important one (pts)!!

true, but we should never be complacent about the ammount of goals scored or conceeded. many many moons ago man city got relegated from the top flight having scored more goals than any other team including the champions for that year. its been a while since i last read the statistics but i'm pretty sure they also finished rock bottom.

It's a zero sum game, you don't create as many chances as we have been without leaving space at the back.

And what the hell would you call this if not a "serious charge up the table"? We're comfortably 4th without the deduction.
