I thought Eccles was pants pretty much through out. Heaved a sigh of relief when Jack came on. Eccles has limited ability to hold the ball under pressure - key attribute for the position he was in.
You weren't also the referee by any chance last night were you? 🤔

On Rushworth again, what is going wrong with his kicking?
On a few occasions I have said this, his distibution is erratic and often gives the ball straight back to the opposition for us to defend again or he kicks it to their keeper or kicks it out of play, that's a real shame because he is some keeper for sure!

Thought generally all were OK. Their first goal was sloppy but I thought we were basically in control.
Solid 7’s. Saka and Grimes 8. Rushworth would have been 8 but for their 1st goal

Entertaining game.
Van Ewijk and Rudoni really good.
Sakamoto also looked really up for it.

Esse I'm a bit unconvinced still, but he's young and you can tell there is a player there.
Maybe we won't see it while he's with us this season though
I’ve said it before, watching on the tv was horrendous - entertaining not, stressful yes! Then I was still awake at 2am I was on such a high. Keep the team’s focus on the next game, Frank, a draw Monday night and a win next Saturday gets us very close….

We can win Monday! I watched Hull playing and I would say pretty average really.

Eccles was really poor for their first goal. No Desiree to get back goal of their centre back and push him away from goal just ambling back.

But for the one obvious error I liked the ref.. he let the game flow nicely and was fair to both sides..
Yeah. Blotted his copy book with the pen decision but I thought had a good game. I liked how he played advantage fairly.

Frank seemed to agree but I suspect his comments may have been very different had we not won.

Their first goal was a defensive shocker. Should have stopped the cross, Rushy should have stayed on his line but Kitching had an age to watch and deal with his man, so basic. For that he gets a 6.
It wasn't kitchings man. Bereton-Diaz was playing on the right, he was Dasilva's man. He made a late run coming in from wide.

It was an absolute peach of a cross to be fair especially from a lump of a defender such as Clarke. Took it away from Rushworth with the bend on the ball and a decent bullet header to be fair, albeit unchallenged.

Well Eccles stood thete watching Clarke cross the ball and Kitching stood there admiring the quality of the cross too

Watch it again
Kitchings man
It wasn't watch where he's come from.

He's made a late run from wide off the right wing, running past Esse who half attempts to track him

And at the point the ball is crossed he is still the widest Derby player, with Dasilva, Morris and Esse all between Kitching and Diaz.

Even when the ball is in flight, Dasilva and Morris are between Kitching and Diaz, as Diaz has made the late run from wide, Esse has stopped tracking him

Kitching is the one defender that tracks the flight of the ball as Diaz arrives on the end of the cross

He was never Kitchings man.

Kitching turns to see him behind him and Dasilva motions this is my man I’m marking

Sorry Pete not having it, if anything Dasilva should have passed Morris on to Kitching who is more central and picked up Diaz, but really Esse should have tracked him all the way in instead of stopping and standing on the 18 yard box watching.

It was a great late run that was virtually in defendable.

Every goal against is defendable..............IF they all do their job

I said the run was virtually undefendable not the goal. The CB should never have been allowed to get into the position or allowed to get the cross in(Eccles), Rushworths positioning was poor, and Esse should have tracked Diaz all the way (Sakamoto would have done). And it all started with a really sloppy first time pass by Dasilva giving the ball away.

Kitching should have been better at the far post.
