I don't think so. No one has prevented more goals than Carl Rushworth. They have had some good games and some below par games, I don't see lots of posts slating our defence, but quite right there are question marks on whether they can do it in the PL. Funnily enough though West Brom have conceded a lower xG than us so you could argue they are defensively better than us, but have yet have conceded far more actual goals. Even Portsmouth xG conceded is only marginally worse than ours.

Especially if you recall our dodgy start where we couldn’t defend a set piece, and then take that out of the equation.

even bigger credit to lampard, after the QPR Norwich games, changed how we defended, so much better now, 3 of our 5 ( rushworth included ) would start in the prem just need a LB and someone next to,Thomas

We need to find a left footed Milan and quick left footed centre back.

Very, very expensive unless they can find some gems.

Kitching and Dasilva have been good players for us but they cannot be starting first game of the season.

We need two CBs and a LB next season. Plus a replacement for Rushworth if he doesn’t stay. The defence isn’t close to PL ready. They are helped massively by playing in a side that dominates games and wins the ball high up and by having two out and out DMs in front and a PL class GK behind that makes the headline stats look far better than they should. The complete opposite to the Robins playoff defence that protected Wilson.

Don't forget we're also the top scorers and part of the reason we'd been more open is that we were attacking more. Onyeka has made a huge difference in front of them, obviously Rushworth too, but credit where it's due and the numbers don't lie. I think Lati's reading of the game has been a huge improvement, Thomas clearly our best aerially (in both boxes). Probably move Wolfenden on and upgrade him, keep the other 3 CB. At LB, Dasilva as back up and move Bidders on. MVE & KKH certainly adequate at RB for where we are currently.

You realise it’s all one team right?

This isn’t American football where the defence and attack are separate sets of players.

The side dominates games partly due to the ability of our defenders.

I know we’ll need better next season but have we been a bit harsh on ours, joint best in the league
Weve been harsh yes , we played a very high line and attacked relentlessly early season with high fullbacks , left us very exposed especially through midfield but we wouldnt be where we are now without that style .

They all deserve immense credit for an amazing season

Yes lm the one saying it’s one team and that our defenders are being helped out by our dominance not holding back wave after wave of attacks. Genuinely have you looked into adult learning classes for reading?

Have you looked into attempting to understand anything about football other than what transfer market tells you?

The reality is, in countless games we should have conceded lots more goals than we have. Rushworth has been a huge difference but we still concede silly goals. Our full backs won’t be able to get away with what they do now in the premier league. Whoever they are will need to play far more defensively. I don’t think our current ones can

On this I think it’s important to note, last time I checked Rushworth has prevented seven goals based on XG.

I think we’ll need two new CBs next season and a starting LB.
