The players on trial at Coventry City will learn later today if they have done enough to satisfy Aidy Boothroyd they the quality he is looking for.
Two of the players, striker Orlando Smeekes, currently under contract at the German side FC Carl Zeiss Jena and he big Danish international goalkeeper Kevin Ellegaard who is a free agent, should both learn today if they will be offered a deal by Coventry City.
Boothroyd said, "I will have a little think about the two trialists. There is a (price) tag attached to Orlando from his club so I have got to weigh up whether he is worth that.
"I have kind of made my mind up and I need to speak to him and his agent to see what the best course of action is. It's all right wanting a player but that's only the start of it . You have got to make sure that he is not over priced, and we have to consider his wages as well."
Boothroyd also had a look at two other goalkeepers, Australian youngster Lawrence Thomas and German Carsten Null, also from Carl Zeiss Jena.

I'm guessing only one of Null/Ellegaard will get a contract, Lawrence Thomas seems a decent goalkeeper and he obviously won't be put into the first squad for a couple of seasons anyway.
I've heard that Orlando Smeekes has been one of our best players in pre-season, and being able to play as a striker or a winger, he seems the perfect player for us.
