Rumours on twitter that he has agreed terms with Notts County but has not yet agreed on a contract settlement with us.

Stupid freezing him and others out, I reckon. Most of the first team can't legally drink alcohol yet experienced players are surplus to requirements.

Going off Pressley very quickly.

tbf, Bell can't stay on a pitch for more than 60 minutes a season, so although always liked him as a player, although he'll no doubt go injury free forever now and inspire them to great things, I wish him well but thank the Lord he goes!

He can be a decent player when fit, the problem is that's never. To get him off the wage bill would be fantastic.

my concern is he will get injured on the way to doing his medical

Bell and Christie leaving will save another £500k off the wage bill this season...

Add that to Wood, Cody, Cameron, Elliott, Philskirk, and we should have saved well into £2 million over least years wage bill..

If we had a good enough squad then I would agree. But one of the centre backs on Saturday was 16!

Yeah yeah, signing players I know.

But maybe the only way we can afford a centre back is to move on an injury prone if talented midfielder, given we have about 43 of the buggers anyway.

David Bell produced one of my favourite memories last season, at Bournemouth in the League, when he came onto the pitch as a second half sub, the travelling SBA burst out into "We thought you were dead, we thought you were deadddd, Oh David Bell, we thought you were dead"

Thought we still had a transfer embargo on? Surely this includes players going out as well as coming in? Or is he totally out of contract? (Or am I just babbling on? )

We can sell and terminate but not allowed to bring players in.

kinda, it's off the ffp calculation which is important but if he needs to agree leaving terms with ccfc that is clearly him asking not to be out of pocket by leaving. So if County are offering him 3k (for example) a week we presumably need to offer him 4 or 5k a week as well to get him to leave otherwise he is better off not going anywhere. Thats the flaw in this whole plan of getting rid of players we dont think are worth the money as long as everyone else feels the same way it doesn't really work.

Not exactly. His contract has to be paid off, County won't be paying him nearly so much.

I agree, he's not afraid to make changes and we need to make big changes. However, his hand has been forced by the fact that SISU are moving us out of the city and cutting the playing budget in half!

How do people know players wages, surely the only one who knows is the player & his agent.

Given the recent problems then I would possibly agree. However, from the point of view from the player he surely can attract a much better club that Notts County. Would say top 6 / bottom half championship.

Be more of a side step for him!

8k ridiculous lol try about half of that although still one of the top earners. The only one who was left anywhere near that amount was Wood. Baker/McSheffery/Bell/Clarke all on about 4-5k tops.

Even with that, before employers contributions it's still around one and quarter million a year for just those four you mentioned.

Not One Penny coming from the fans(even if they wanted to at the moment).

Still a hefty financial commitment from Sisu regardless.

All things are possible, but I'd prefer to think that you just hold a different opinion. Me too fwiw.

Maybe I'm a c-unit too. Bald too. It's all going against me I guess.
