He’s always been one of our best players on the ball and the criticism he got was mostly because he was short and people couldn’t see past that. The ludicrous “targeting Dasilva” stuff for example. Glad it’s stopped and the meme is in the other direction now.

The system has massively helped Dasilva's defending. We defend much narrower now so the balls between him and Kitch don't happen now as the space is gone. His one on one defending is fine as his feet are quick and he can often get a toe in.
On the other side of it, it has killed Bidders as he defends better when he can get tight to a player and is excellent at stopping wingers turning. Once they have turned and are running into space he finds it a lot harder.

Last season didn’t we defend very narrow and aim to defend the box too?

Teams do still try that long ball over to his side to be clear, but he’s being supported much more effectively. He’s perfected the art of standing players up then nicking the ball off them, did it very well Saturday too.

Da Silva's played well. Glad he isn't further up the pitch, as their players are putting in some iffy tackles. and the pitch is in very poor condition, causing players to miscontrol, and more 50/50s. Dan James has been caught a few times as a result (and he's been gash as well)

I think it’s easy to say this when a player starts performing but he was genuinely poor when he first started. Wright playing in front of him didn’t help. Can’t remember who it was against now, Preston or Millwall, where he was dragged at half time…he was absolutely terrible.

Glad he’s turned it around as he’s been superb but don’t think anybody can really say that he’d performed well before.

He’s had bad games but fewer than Bidwell which considering how much each has played says a lot. He’s been excellent this season as everyone has, but the stick he’s got has been unnecessary with people doing that thing where they start hating someone so every goal becomes a “how can I blame this guy” game. He’s always been outstanding on the ball and a decent 1-1 defender.

Given your constant slating of Kitching and Thomas as bang average championship centre halves I’d stay away from this if I were you

Any time the ball went within about 40 yards of him:
