A rumour on Twitter that Danny Pugh who was released from Leeds in May will be another summer recruit in the next few days.

Not a rumour from CoventryITK by the way..

Watched him a lot at Bournemouth, good player. Can go missing in games, but can change a game with some brilliance. A moussa type player really.

We are after Danny Pugh and Barney McGrew, as you say, but also have shown interest Marc Pugh from Bournemouth, Scott Cuthbert from Leyton Orient and Dean Grubb from Weston Super Mare.

Now if only there was a footballer called Dribble we could be interested in, we'd have a full house.

So the new stadium will be in Trumpton?

Surely Andy Dibble's still around?

Anyway, Pugh's another long line of players who did well for Leeds on loan and then turned mediocre once we'd signed him. Can play in lots of different positions but is average at best in all of them. Will occasionally wow you with a good game but don't be fooled, especially if it's early on. Don't remember him as being particularly injury prone and probably qualifies as a defensively solid left back at League 1 level but if you asked me to name one thing he was good at I'd struggle. He offers nothing further forward but will score 1 great goal a season that makes you think that maybe there's more to come. There isn't.

Re-assuring - solid player by the sounsd of it.

A reasonable squad has at least one player for two positions. With keeper sorted, we can now say the same for defence: Pugh, Haynes, Willis, Phillips, Johnson, Clarke, Seabourne, Webster.

Midfield is a work in progress - O'Brien, Swanson, Fleck, Baker, Thomas, Coulibaly - with a couple of players from the academy, we are probably in need of another centre mid e.g. Bailey, Prutton, Robinson etc.

Obviously we need a few more options in attack!
