Yeah, you can tell he puts the work in. Has insights on the opposition, talks with confidence and gives his own opinion based on facts and research. Doesn't patronise callers by blindly agreeing with or waving through their opinion without challenging it.

I like Gurney and Oggy. And I also liked Clive and Oggy.
As for what Oggy is paid, I reckon it’s a decent parking space, petrol money, a pre-match pie, a half-time Chunky Kit Kat and unlimited Kenco coffee.

Always maintained Oggy and Clive did their homework before going on air. They knew everything about the opposition. On the rare occasions I listen to opposing presenters, they usually know bugger all about us or talk absolute crap.

Totally agree, I've mentioned on here before about Radio Tees and the fact they have a fancaster (Dana) who puts our ones to shame. Always giving a well balanced and articulate view. There are some educated ones but most of ours just talk through sky blue tinted glasses. That guy who sounds like he smokes 50 a day does my tits in

Oggy is the only reason I bother putting it on these days - From the limited amount of games I do not make and listen along, Rob is not my cup of tea and nowhere near as good as Clive

Do think Clive is still a big miss, but I've warmed to Rob this season. Think it's because he's still a familiar voice and we've not really had many reasons to be negative so far.
Not a big fan of the fancast format though really, although I imagine the phone in just wasn't working with the same callers each week

It's rare that I listen on the radio but every time I have this year, it was better with Clive. Even when he was getting names wrong, he was far better than what we have now. Far more level headed (but still passionate) without going overboard, gushing and attempting to jinx games/this season at every opportunity.
Rob sounds like that awkward guy at the pub who over compensates but doesn't really know. With Clive, you could never be sure about which player he was actually talking about but thought he was unbiased and that's what you want when listening to a game on the radio.
