Curious Reason To Go Yesterday (1 Viewer)

Just been told by a friend that his brother-in-law went to Sixfields yesterday. According to my friend, his brother-in-law had never been to the Ricoh and had attended Highfield Road two or three times in twenty years. He went yesterday, apparently, out of "curiosity".

I wonder how many of the other "fans" went yesterday for similar reasons and will never be seen again?

Said this a while back that some people might go to a game for the 'novelty factor'. Of course persuading people to go to one game on that basis is a lot different to persuading them to go every week.

I think that will be increasingly popular with people in Northampton, particularly with 5-4 scorelines.

I expect the crowd to go up for the Preston game - there will undoubtedly be a few that sat out the first game and went to the Ricoh instead, but who will now start going (I'm talking a few hundred), but I think its fair to say that when the midweek games come along, and as the season drags on, numbers will plummet even further.

I don't understand why people would have missed the first game due to the charity game being on, especially as it kind of doubled up as a protest against the move.

Apart from the distance and it's locality even within Northampton, it's a shit second rate League 2 type stadium, you can see that from the photo's from yesterday.

Forget the politics, the Ricoh is purpose built for the Championship at least and in reality when full would grace the Premiership. The corporate facilities and lounges and its proximity to the M6 make it vastly superior. When the land around, including the train stop have been developed it will improve even more !

I'm not curious about Sixfields, not at all !!

I saw a Facebook friend post earlier today that he is considering going to Sixfields. He isn't a Coventry fan but lives in Northampton and quite fancies seeing a cheap game of entertaining football (9 goals!) and was saying he's tempted to go as a neutral.

I wonder how many people in Northampton will be doing likewise.

I knew a bloke who went yesterday, he likes testing out pies you see, and was testing to see if the fayre was any better at Sixfields than at the Ricoh.

I'm delighted to say that the pies were of far superior quality at Sixfields, and that 10p of his fee was actually going to CCFC. Heart-warming stuff.

I can see how the curiosity factor would come into the equation...rather like 'rubber neckers' driving past an horrific pile up...you don't want to look but you just can't help it! Make no mistake this move to sixfields is an accident waiting to happen. The end result will be the death of our club...if people can't see that then they have buried their heads in the sand.
