They must have some contractual agreement with Sky to be shown every time we’re on there

The end was almost empty up until the day before.

I don't like the way that the end is kind of being 'rejected'- only thing that will fix that is more victories, a cause, momentum which will bring more people.

It's not really being "rejected". The ticket price is the same all over, so people will opt for a better view along the side.

But it is though, a lot of people prefer behind the goal, you'd expect it to be more evenly spread if that was the case.

I dont understand? If people prefer behind the goal then they'd buy tickets there. But the numbers show that people prefer the side of the pitch whilst the ticket prices are a flat rate.

we haven’t suddenly become the only club in the country to not want to sit behind the goal- there were 4k+ in the west stand every match at HR and the West End was the most popular part of the ground- 4k is two thirds of the end at the CBS. For wherever reason that end isn’t popular at all, and I don’t believe it’s because of the view otherwise there would be nobody in the corner by the away fans

In covid times it is a good idea to have an area with fewer people and might encourage elderly and vulnerable people to attend if they can feel safer in such an area,

I seriously wish we'd do this. Net off about 8k seats from the top all the way round. Not like Wasps will need the seats either, in fact you could net off 20k+ for those fuckers.

I still dont quite understand what point you are trying to make? The reason the West End/Terrace was popular was because it was cheaper and next to the away fans when HR became all seater. Likewise the Kop was popular because again it was cheaper and offered atmosphere next to away fans.

The end behind the goal is unpopular because it offers very little. Same price as the better views along the side and the corner near away fans.

The point I’m trying (and clearly failing ) to make is that next to nobody is interested in sitting behind the goal, which is a huge departure for not only us but every other club.

its not about views- loads of people prefer behind the goal, I’m one of them, but for whatever reason nobody wants to sit behind the goal at the CBS.

Can I suggest that the slowish take up of seats behind the goal is twofold. The first being that the 'mob' that would normally occupy it are already up in Block 15,14 etc, where they have been established for a while. Others, who might have chosen to go, already have friends, acquaintances who attend along the side, so will buy tickets near them. Mainly newbies and groups choosing to go / move who will occupy the area. It will gather momentum though. Give it time.

My favourite position in a ground is behind the goal about 10 rows up. You can’t beat the feeling you get when the net bulges. But my favourite position is where the most noise is. That's where I go if I have the choice.

The mystery regarding behind the goal isn't really a mystery at all. It's largely down to a lack of season ticket holders there. It wasn't open during phase 1 of sales, so 80% of people had already purchased before it was opened, and then couldn't be arsed to move, especially when they can see how sparse it is.

The view is excellent there. I'm in block 16 but went behind the goal for Wolves and it is a far better view. It'll grow in popularity as the season goes on. Talk of closing it is batshit.

It's mad. The East Stand was full for Forest. Do they want the people behind the goal to sit on laps? Leave it open. People forget that for most of our time at the Ricoh it has been open and the middle blocks were always popular. Just about changing habits. Not sure why people are so bothered, they'd rather force these people to sit in corners or on the front row in some creepy 'let's be closer together' noncefest. Or worse still operate some weird 'block by block' opening policy that would be next level tinpot.

If we are paying per stand as previously believed and it's costing more to open turnstiles, clean toilets and staff the catering, it seems a bit crazy to open a stand that's not even a quarter full.

I'm glad people stayed where the were. The atmosphere was brilliant because of it. Far better than the previous day's in the championship where we opened it up fully and the atmosphere was dreadful.

Makes no sense. Where would you have put them against Forest? It would've needed to open anyway. It also helps the atmosphere to have fans around the entire bowl. In the League One days when it was closed, even when the turnout was good, the atmosphere in blocks 22-24 was dreadful because there was an empty expanse to the right. No other clubs do this, and let's be honest most grounds in the Championship are half empty most weeks.

But there'll also be a much bigger walk up this weekend than we had against Forest. I wouldn't be surprised if the game attracted similar numbers.

I still think the atmosphere became far better at the Ricoh the season they decided to put the fans in one end.

I'd have opened up just two blocks in the North stand alongside the social distanced block.
