True, but as I said in the other thread, the last Good Friday game played at home 2 seasons ago there was an above average crowd.
I don't think the GF thing will effect the gate at all, but all the other factors might. Remains to be seen. I certainly hope people don't turn their back on the club. Today is a day to turn out regardless of circumstances imo.
Many people have lost an awful lot of money due to the club moving this game only a few weeks before kick off.
Its the annual Sky Blues Interntaional game, where the SBI arrange for a special deal for CCFC fans around the world and many have booked flights for this afternoon / this evening to get tp the game that was scheduled for tomorrow. The SBI work with the club on this fixture, so they knew months ago that people would be traveling over from here there and everywhere.
Have to smile at these dire predictions, particularly the one that said it will be 6000.
The predicted crowd today (well what has been advised to police and casino operator etc.) is 11K-12K. So slightly above average then. Remains to be seen, but it is a bank holiday and it is kids for a quid.
As for the 'sinister' decision to move the fixture, oh please. It was inconsiderate and late, but totally understandable.
Well yours seems the most optimistic forecast,so take out the season ticket holders who have already paid,it will be about 3-4000 paying spectators.Kids for a quid, plus deduct the 20% VAT on ticket sales, the club will be lucky to take £60000.With an average of 2 home games a month it would mean 100% of the gate money would go to the 'CCFC loving' ACL,under the old rental agreement.Surely in the past it would have been simpler for fans to pay ACL direct for their tickets, and if the club got lucky ACL could have handed over a few quid to pay all the playing staff, office staff,PAYE,insurance, coach travel, etc etc.Still with the club now in administration I'm sure the gate will be boosted,by hordes of eager investors, desperate to grt their hands on the cash cow that is CCFC.
Was there? I can't understand why anyone would do that as we benefit by playing on Friday. We all have our own followers who will make rash statements from time to time, you'll find that I am not one of them. I have sympathised with the plight of CCFC fans in recent days and will attend the game today in solidarity as much as supporting my team.
As for the reorganisation of the fixture, there are many DRFC fans who have been inconvenienced by the date change and have lost money on travel etc. I have no idea why the decision to re-arrange was taken so late?

We're down by 2 season ticket holders and two more I know well are not going either, this will be a case of 8000 maximum. I mean who's going to stump up full price now its become utterly meaningless.
Well, I know about 7 or 8 people going today who don't normally (5 from out of town who are back for Easter) and a couple of others who usually work Saturdays. Genuinely don't think it will be as bad as all that. I hope not anyway.
Problem has been getting tickets and I don't think the fair weather fans who come a few times a season and would possibly have gone to this one will be bothered to queue for ticket.
Too much hassle.
It's sad to say it but if I wasn't cursed with supporting this lot I'd probably be joining them on he sofa. Today will have an even shitter atmosphere than usual with nothing to play for and everyone feeling more pissed off than usual.
I'm looking forward to watching a game of footy personally but that's how I think today will go. Think we will be lucky to get anything from today's game down at the morgue.
