Sent To Coventry but with a graphic of Robins smiling, adds further play to the phrase.

Really like the idea of ‘Sent to Coventry’. Also liked the suggestion of ‘The Specials One’ for a 2-tone flag.

No, it would be “Mark Robins’s Sky Blue Army”

It’s not a possessive plural. If you were talking about the Smiths down the road and it was theirs you’d say the Smiths’ sky blue army.

What if his last name was Ross? It’d be Ross’s....

Not according to this, Archived Material (grammar): Apostrophes for possession it’s optional and depends on how you say it. We say “Robins” not “Robinsez” so it’d be Robins’

I think you’re both right in this instance. The way it’s chanted is Robins’ Sky Blue Army but if his name were Ross for example we would chant Ross’s Sky Blue Army. I think the below provides a better summary than I do.

If the possessive involves a last name ending with "s" or "z," you can add either. Special rules apply for classical and biblical names.

I assume the last sentence also applies now given his God like status.

Forget the discussion on the apostrophe, surely the biggest faux pas here is the spelling of Robins in the first place? Robbins is our manager according to many!

I was one of the original opposers of “sent to Coventry” but I have come round to it. Mainly because I agree the others are a bit cringe / gushing. Go for it

Pretty disappointed that the flat is Robins on a surf board to be honest after a quick glimpse of the threat title.

Donated.

Still think a two tone black and white is the best design. As for wording, not sure happy to go with the majority.

Would agree with this, love the two tone strip and it’ll forever remind fans of this time at the club

Thank you RobbieKeane much appreciated too, I'll put all the designs to a vote in a few weeks, the designs are also on the facebook group "Coventry city forum" so i'll count the votes over both forums - The "Live and die in these towns" design has proven popular.

For me "Sent to Coventry" ("pretending that the shunned person, although conspicuously present, can't be seen or heard") works as it would be about the away fans, not Robins. As in, they've come here to be silenced by our team/fans, and Robins is the orchestrator.

How about ''Send me to Coventry'' which sounds like a plea rather than ''Sent to Coventry'' which sounds like a prison sentence?

wow! thank you very generous of you Robbie,
More good news as i've had a company get in touch who can make the flag at a reduced cost (maybe he's a closet city fan) so now we are looking at around £1500.00 which means we are 20 percent there!! great effort so far..

That's the point though isn't it.

A reversal of the saying. The fact we would be passing the flag around shows that it is through our own volition. It works perfectly.

Sent to Coventry and he turned the negative into a success and therefore the saying, on its head.
