Really should be trying to play this out for a draw from here. This is where Baseball falls down and they go out swinging.

Is it too late to pull out of the ashes? Can we say that we're injured or something? I'm not up for an embarrassing 5-0 whitewash.

once again the problems with bazball exposed. I get that it has some upside and can be exciting but you're going to struggle to beat India and the Aussies.

Root and Stokes are out before all of The Flintstones have taken their seats in the Hollies.

I know it’s not fashionable to enforce the follow-on these days but I wonder if India might, given that that could well have a first innings lead of around 400

Can he bat?

If so, make sure he is around for the next test

You're looking at Brook getting 200 and Smith 100 just to get within 200, assuming Woakes adds a few as well

Smith the latest to potentially break Jessop's 100 off 76. 91 off 72 currently...

Just popping in from watching WI v Aus,

Brathwaite struck straight back for a c&b, 0 runs, in 2nd over. Damaging in their hopes of a positive reply on a still batter friendly wicket

Smith and Brook doing incredibly well but you have to ask why 3 batters, including the captain, gave us nothing.

If the wicket is that flat then you should be expecting 40/50 at least from them and it puts the game within reach.

I still think the sensible option is to try and play a draw.

New ball was doing a bit. Different umpire and woakes could have 3 wickets day one (Inc 2 before lunch both clipping the stumps so umpire's decision)

Can't be many games where 2 players have got 150 and nobody else had topped 30 but could be on for it here.

Not out the question there could be 5 ducks in the innings as well.

And there it is Just need someone to fire a leg side wide that goes for 4 and extras will be third highest scorer in a match with 2 centurions

Piss poor from the tail there. Just a question of how brave India will be with the declaration after last time

I've seen some England collapses over the years but that was spectacular from the women. From 137-1 to 171-9
After losing their first wicket, England failed to last more than five balls between wickets throughout the remainder of their innings.

after that almighty collapse England managed to drop 6 catches, including some very easy ones.

but they got the win. great to see Wong in the England setup again this summer and bowling at the death. was beginning to think the technical adjustments they made to her game a couple of years back were going to be career enders. struggled to even get game time with the bears.

Windies kept it close to trail by about 30 odd before all out (questionable last out, my opinion) yesterday, then managed to get Konstas to clatter his own stumps with a wayward swing in the first over, then rapped Khawaja at the knee. Aus end at 12-2 for 45 run lead to start the 3rd day here in about 10 minutes or so.
For those who can't watch (or no longer WANT to watch) the England game, I do recommend the West Indies game as there's been constant excitement and still surprisingly close to make for an interesting finish.

This is an embarrassment to "class a" cricket. Every single one of them looks like they'd rather be anywhere else but on the filed right now. Half arsed is a compliment for every last one of them. Pathetic! Australia will have a fucking laugh against us in the ashes! I bet they can't wait to beef up their batting stats.

Only need 608, should be fine.

Can we manage to get through to the end of the day without chucking one or two wickets away?

Absolute joke. Only plus is we know Root and Stokes can settle it. Other than that we've got good batters that'll gift their wicket playing daft shots for runs.
