Crewe Stopping Cov Fans Buying Tickets In The Home End (2 Viewers)

I have just heard from a friend that if you are wanting to go in the home end at Crewe and buy a ticket you will need a customer number.

The only problem is that Crewe are not allowing fans to register for a customer number until after the 2nd leg.

My only advice would be to go on twitter and try and find a nice Crewe fan :).

A real shame as I know a lot of you boys would have gone in the home end.

That's a good question. Also I'm guessing if you drive to Crewe on the day or beforehand that you might not need a customer number on the day.

Lucky guy!

Managed to luckily get 2 tickets at around 9.10am this morning online.

I think your inbox will be on fire this evening.

Try and find out if the Crewe fans are limited on the amount of tickets they can buy and post it on this thread.

If you went on the day, what's stopping you sign up?

Just has a look on the Crewe footymad forum, their fans predict the crowd will be no more than 8000 some predicting as little as 6000, one guy even proposed giving us their main stand which holds about 6500 and they have the other 3 sides. It is inevitable that people will travel without tickets so Crewe and the local Police will have to make contigency plans to accomodate the fans, I imagine the Police would rather have all the City fans inside the stadium as it's far easier to contain any potential problems by having us all in one place. If I we're in charge at Crewe I would only sell tickets in the main stand to home fans and keep the stand behind the goal free to accomodate the Sky Blue Army.

Went there a few years back in the championship and we filled two stands, one behind the goal and the whole of the stand opposite their main stand. I agree that the club & police should have a contingency plan to accommodate the SBA without tickets.

I live in Crewe and know Gresty Road fairly well. The stadium only holds around 10,000, of which the Main Stand accounts for around 70%. I don't know what contingency plans you could make as there isn't physically anywhere else for the Cov fans to go. I'm sure we have got the away side and behind one goal (the Family Stand). I would be surprised if the Crewe fans couldn't fill, or nearly fill most of the other two stands.

Has anyone considered speaking to the Football Liaison Officer in the local Constabulary ? If there is a contingency, they may have some advice ( though it'll probably be "Don't travel without a ticket").
