This season I think has exposed the lack of strength in depth in certain positions, however we have a flexible squad. If say we brought in players to cover wide areas (Wings and Full backs) number 10 and GK would we do better even if the starting 11 was the same?

We haven't seen how Frank wants us to play yet. He inherited a squad, and had to play to its strengths, which he did very well.

Now, with a bit of financial backing, and a fresh transfer window, and a full pre-season to prepare, we'll get to see how he really wants to set us up.

Don't really agree with that first paragraph.
He clearly wants to play a 4 3 3.

When we went to 5 3 2 we were averaging 2.7 points per game for a 10 a game period (which was quite astonishing), but he switched back as soon injuries allowed so its seems clear to me how we'll be playing, obviously with some personnel changes.

Yep, can only see him moving away from it in an injury crisis.

It's funny, but at the start of the season we all thought we had good depth and strength on the bench, but by the end we were almost on our collective arse again!
Most of the drama was through injury, so how do we cope with that situation again, get even more players in? where does it stop?

Think at one point we had nearly half of our starting 11 missing. can’t remember a season as bad as this one for injuries , which makes getting as close as we did some effort,

Wasn’t the plan to be a lot better from an injury perspective? Therefore not requiring such a big squad.

With the new training pitches and sport’s medical team under the Performance Director?

Our second XI when everyone is fit:

Wilson
Burroughs
Lati
Binks
Bidwell
Allen
Eccles
Torp
BTA
Simms
Rafa

Way better than 3 years ago but still has a long way to go - the defence & wingers certainly need work

RB has to be a priority, and is if the KKH rumours are true (will need another if MVE leaves though).

A winger for depth is needed too, Dolan or Diangana on a free would be decent business I think.

Overall our depth isn’t bad outside of those positions. We’ve had a lot of injuries this season and not had to play too many makeshift lineups.
