Do you mean the one that was Theatre One or was there an actual porn cinema? I assume this was in the days before home video.

It was the Alexandra before it was Theatre One...

My Out-laws announced they were off to see Flash Gordon there when I was courting the now wife... I thought I hadn't seen that advertised, so checked the CET. Imagine their surprise when they realised quite early on in the film that it was "Flesh Gordon" :claping hands:

Still, got them out of the house for an hour or so... ;)

Bet they came out as pale as a sheet and all dishevelled. :laugh:

All I recall about Theatre One, being a relative nipper at 35, was that it was absurdly easy to sneak and watch a film for free and that the side exit (or entrance in mine and my friends case) was littered with used johnnies. Also, the advertising posters in the plastic casings were nearly always defaced. That awful film Soapdish was on once, and someone had cleverly taken a marker pen to the 'dish' part and replaced it with 'shit'. Soapshit. Well, it was funny to a 10 year old.
