Their heads are completely gone, can only hope their players feel the same

It’s Coventry

In the play-offs. Do we have any chance?

Didn’t we draw last 2 PO semis when we were at home 1st leg against NC and Boro?

That draw against Notts was a tad fortunate also

I think talk of 2 or 3 goal leads going up there might be optimistic. Mega pressure games. Although we absolutely can.

Must win. With a capital MUST.

I’m discounting any historic h2h results or recent form between us and them. This is gloves off for both.

Doesn't matter if you capitalize it or put it in a fancy font, it still isn't a "must win".

If we lose will you finally accept the next one is must win?

Can see 1st leg being another 0-0. Sunderland parking the bus and countering to avoid conceding, in the hope they can sneak it under their own lights in the 2nd leg.

We'll have far too much for them and will take at least a two goal lead up there. The tie's won; get ready for the Wembley "must-win" game.

There’s absolutely no reason why this one isn’t must win. Fool. Shove your Americanisms too.

Just look at how wet the pitch was for the Notts goal

There is a reason - we don't have to win the home leg to win the tie. I struggle to see why you refuse to acknowledge this simple fact.
It's not my Americanism.

He just won't train as much, need his presence in both legs, a gap then until the final

You’d have us take a deficit up there. ‘The tie is won’ is even more foolish.

Please point out in my reply to you where I predicted the result if the home leg.
If you're unable to accept the possibility that we could draw or even lose the home leg and still win the tie, then there's no point continuing this exchange and you're beyond help.
"The tie is won" was my response to another poster. I'm optimistic.

Nah. ‘It’s not must win’ and ‘the tie is won’. Think we’ll stick with those.

Styles make matches and theirs really suits ours. People did wonder if Carrick would adapt his side against us yesterday, he didn’t. It’s not straightforward to suddenly get your team familiar with very different tactics just for one game.

They were probably thinking it was going to be Bristol City too, and now they have 5 days to prepare for someone else. Obviously works the other way round too.

You’d be comfortable taking a loss up there with how bad we are away and from losing positions?

must win

I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Simms, but confidence must be bursting out of that eleven now and he deserves another run out. I wouldn't change anything for Friday.

Sunderland will be rightly nervous. Same again please.

Blunderland is the tie we all wanted, great record against them and they are out of form, 6 games and have lost 5 in a row, going on what their fans are saying is that RLB football is shite, can't score nor defend very well, the trio of Rigg/Bellingham and Neil has been poor for months with Le Bris insisting on playing Le Fee out wide instead of in the middle which doesn't suit him. So they ain't a happy bunch .

It's going to be a tough game as its PO's but I'm confident we can get a good win at home to take up to theirs, our squad is very good and not forgetting we have a man in form in Rudoni , I'll be nervous of course but I think we will win, come on city! PUSB

Will be difficult for Sunderland to change gear so I think we can beat them. BTA for Simms for me.

Sunderland is who all we preferred in the PO’s let’s be honest.

They’ve got some good players and it won’t be easy, but got to make the most of this first leg at home. Take a lead up to Sunlun if we can.

They have some decent players but we have something they don't. A decent team. There's a good chance that this tie will be over after the first leg.

I dont like it that Sunderland fans have all ready written this off. Normally they are overly confident.

Again, please quote where I said that. You're being remarkably obtuse. I made a statement of fact - we can lose the home leg and still win the tie. You refuse to acknowledge this. At no point did I say I'd be comfortable taking a loss to the SoL. I predicted that we will win the home leg and go on to win the tie. In response to your question, I'd agree that losing the home leg would leave us with perhaps too much to do.

Considering we lost 2 must win games on the bounce with just 3 games to go and still went up a place to 5th....

Is JDS still suspended, and if not, would you bring him in for Bidwell?

I dunno if you drop bidwell now though. Probably go with same 11 again

I think the same. Hard to change a winning XI.

Think JDS would suit us at home more though.
