They really are awful goals to concede. It has to stop now. Make yourself solid, hard to break down, cut out mistakes, clear the ball. These are the foundations, if you keep a clean sheet you got half a chance, if you keep a clean sheet and score goals and carve teams open like the way we are, we're unstoppable. I can't believe some of the goals we have conceded this season, yes as a few say they were scrappy bad luck goals but come on!
Their second goal Daniels has a chance to put the ball in either row Z or 30 yards over the half way line and he slices it 20 foot in the air, putting pressure on himself to then deal with the high ball which he doesn't and their boy scores the goal of his life. If Daniels smashes at into row z, he doesn't score. I've already touched on the 4th goal, i'm still fuming about it now. Clarke and Murphy, criminal defending there.
How many goals have we conceded from a throw in, corner or free kick in the box and not dealt with the second ball, the second phase! We win the first header and like Daniels, instead of clearing it we keep it in the danger zone and they score. It's awful defending and I can't believe after 4-5 weeks of the season gone it's still happening. It's as if the fans have been ground down so much by this SISU/ACl bollox that we are accepting shocking defending because we are also scoring at the same time. We are on -3 points, we could have won every game so far this season if we hadn't conceded goals from awful awful individual errors. 2 players out, next port of call HAS to be another defender because there will be a time when we don't score 4 a game...but will we cut out the ridiculous errors?
Rant over. I'm loving all these goals, Wilson has been a revelation, you know what you are going to get with Clarke and as my Sheff Wed buddy always says, he will score a hatful in league 1. I really like Adams and Christie at the back, I like Jordan Clarke a lot but as a team we have to defend better and this has to be something Pressley focus's on. The answer? Maybe that Martin lad from Saints, I don't know.
