Originally we were overwhelmingly City fans and only started to go when we moved to Northampton. Then we only went when CCFC were playing away.Gradually we realised we enjoyed going to the Butts far more than going to CCFC. We found the Ricoh atmosphere was toxic and we were just going out of habit, the Butts by contrast was a great positive experience with a winning and entertaining team. Last year even though we had season tickets at the Ricoh near the end we chose to pay and watch Cov Rugby even though CCFC were at home.
Now we haven't been to a single home game at the Ricoh and tbh we don't miss it at all, and when you hear the fan's reaction on the radio on the way home.we feel relieved we have finally broken away. Would never support another football club, and will always want CCFC to do well, but the 'events' over the past 10 years ago have driven me and thousands of other fans away. Went to Grimsby early season and tbf it was a decent day out, but it seems we were very lucky, as after watching us at Barnet on Sky it seems that this is largely the quality fans are having to endure most weeks.

That's not quite true, you can do a bit of both. The BPA experience is far superior at the moment and a damn site better value day all round. I still prefer a good game of football on a really good day but how often is that going to happen in League 2. To me one Cov team looks on the up and is a positive experience............and the other one taken hostage by a fucked up spiteful hedge fund seems doomed for more mediocrity and angry reactions.

Agree totally, the matchday 'experience' at the Ricoh played as bigger part to me not renewing my ST as much as the on pitch shambles.

Maybe I'm being precious but having someone who speaks rudely to me with no manners wanting to pat me down and when asked what they're looking for replying "I dunno" over a guy doing the same job (steward) but with common sense (not having to pat me down) welcoming me to the BPA saying "enjoy your day" both happening by people in the same job and both on the arrival at the venue, which one do I want to visit again and bring my young son to in a couple of years ermmm Coventry RFC every time I'm afraid. As the weeks tick by the less and less likely (even takeover pending....) I see myself returning to CCFC in the same capacity as before.

I know a decent number of others who feel the same and I think I'm one of the later ones to jumping off the CCFC ship.

Anyway enough of a ramble/rant from me.

Onto CRFC breaking the club record consecutive wins tomorrow!

I have had stewards at the City say 'enjoy the game' on many occasions.

Fair play, I'm sure I've had the same but my abiding memory will be from the last couple of seasons will be the hostile nature, I purposely used to head for the more local stewards (usually green or blue jackets) as they would sort of smile maybe check my ST and in hope the orange coated ones wouldn't have to go through their power trip 8/10 times they would.
Anyway that's in the past and the damage has been done as such.

I'm enjoying the fact now my Saturdays revolve around me genuinely wanting to go and watch a sports team which on the whole has been missing for me bar probably a 6 month period at the start of the Armstrong season for about 5 years (probably since the 6F move)

I spent most of my youth and much of my adulthood idolising everything Sky Blue, 20+ consecutive years a ST holder and bought for my daughter 6 years as well, on top of that dragging along my twins and wife to numerous City matches all over the country, even as part of UK based holidays. The kids were all draped in CCFC merchandise and we still have a few more tasteful framed momentos round the house. We've never actually lived in the City itself either although almost all my relatives did.

Then came SISU, but worse than that, then came Northampton..............That single spiteful bullshit exercise by the club killing scum shocked me to the core and made me realise how fragile it had all become. It broke the habit as I refused to go down there to watch 'home' matches, In those 15 months my Kids all dropped off with it too and found other stuff to do. Already we had picked up a few matches at the BPA when City were away, and now embraced it and enjoyed supporting a club who were trying to genuinely build for the future. My wife preferred the day at the rugby and was happy to drive most times, otherwise we take the train. The days are always pretty good in that part of Cov.

I'll always be City and will support them when I can but never intend to pump a lot of cash in there whilst those untrustworthy sharks are controlling it and that goes for about 8 of our friends who all used to go regularly.
Play Up Sky Blues, C'mon Cov...............and Fuck off SISU !

Before today in a all fixtures this season in the top 7 tiers of English Rugby only 4 teams have been 'niled' this season Cov stopping 2 of them nearly 3. The defence is on another level this season!

Trusting your maths here as the BBC website still only shows half the results let alone any league tables.
Think we will need as much of a points buffer as possible for the very tough schedule from late November until early January. Not that any cracks are beginning to show....long may that be the case.

First away trip for me watching Cov for a long time, what an enjoyable time we had ,helped no doubt with the news of the score from Luton. Great support there as well ,with 3 coaches and lots travelling in cars. Difficult to judge but I guess at least half the crowd were Cov fans. We dominated the game from the very start, and we were never really threatened although Cambridge competed well throughout, and probably deserved their try.
Again as people have commented,it is a lot more civilised with little or no foul language, fans mixing ,and of course people are free to have a drink in the ground. Whilst of course I was delighted with the City result I can't see us rushing back to the Ricoh in the near future.Hopefully we can take in a couple more away games instead, as we don't wish to break following CCFC completely.Looking forward to the Cov game on Saturday and hopefully we can keep this great run going.

Good news, bad news for Caldy game – Coventry Rugby

Massive blow for Cov, Heath Stevens breaking his leg in training last night, very key player!

Big old squad but he's probably in the top 5 key players.

Has been captain for a fair few games this season so obviously a good leader and bloke to have in the squad.

Good scrum half signed on loan from Northampton to cover that position for 2 months as there has been an injury curse in that position this season!

The injury levels even at this scale of Rugby are crazy and you need a hefty squad to keep progressing. It all costs money though, so with City playing tomorrow I hope CRFC get a boost to their crowd today. The weather is predicted to pick up this afternoon with sunny intervals and at £15 for adults and under 16's free it makes for an affordable live sporting event !
C'mon Cov !

Looks like we are fortunate to have a hefty squad and the replacements will hopefully slot in seamlessly. Another potential banana skin today with Caldy unproven at this level and slow starters in their games so far. Hopefully we can dictate in the scrum right from the start and our overall game management over 80 mins will bring another 5 points. As you said, given that the City are playing tomorrow and with Cov on a long unbeaten run and clear at the top, maybe hopeful of a 1500+ crowd?

Yes I'd be disappointed with anything less than 1500 with us playing so well and City not playing. I'm going for nearer 1750 and a home win !! Fingers crossed !

It seems the backs have taken the brunt of the injuries so far this season!

Hopefully wrap up another first half BP!
You'd think this week and next are 2 garanteed (kiss of death) 5 pointers before the run of games which will define the season after the rest week on the 18th.

11point gap to Plymouth now and Blackheath lost also so the gap over the chasers is healthy.
