Coventry gigs (1 Viewer)

I very rarely see named bands anymore. Happy seeing artists like Warrington-Runcorn at Fargo for £13. However, I really wanted to see Shack at the Academy in Brum as they haven't toured for 15 years. That was £40, which was mad.

As for Kraftwerk. Been a huge fan since my teens. Saw them in 1981 and the last time in 1991 at the Hummingbird in Brum. Not bothered in recent years as they are now just a touring machine at big venues. Thought Wolves might be cheapish, but no. Nearly never got one, but well it's a 60th birthday present to myself and Ralf is 80 next year, so won't be many more chances to see them live.

But yes, prices for gigs are absolutely ridiculous now. Fees too. My ticket included £13 in fees and I don't even get a paper ticket!
I'd pay a couple of quid extra if there was an option to continue paper tickets. I collected loads of stubs over the years and ithat bit of nostalgia / memorabilia adds value imo.

Completely agree and that’s for all sporting events, gigs etc.

Keeping a crumpled up piece of A4 with a shitty bar code on really isn’t the same.

Might be a good idea for another thread and see which other nerds have kept their stubs from over the years!

Really liked the Head brothers previous band the Pale Fountains
Well, that's where my Head journey started with the Pale Fountains circa 1982 and still one of my favourite bands. Loved them, loved Shack. Not so keen on the Red Elastic Band, but so happy Shack are back together.

Coincidentally, I have my Paleys badge on my jacket today.

Them and The Desert Wolves are 2 of the great under appreciated bands of the 1980s
