I'd pay a couple of quid extra if there was an option to continue paper tickets. I collected loads of stubs over the years and ithat bit of nostalgia / memorabilia adds value imo.I very rarely see named bands anymore. Happy seeing artists like Warrington-Runcorn at Fargo for £13. However, I really wanted to see Shack at the Academy in Brum as they haven't toured for 15 years. That was £40, which was mad.
As for Kraftwerk. Been a huge fan since my teens. Saw them in 1981 and the last time in 1991 at the Hummingbird in Brum. Not bothered in recent years as they are now just a touring machine at big venues. Thought Wolves might be cheapish, but no. Nearly never got one, but well it's a 60th birthday present to myself and Ralf is 80 next year, so won't be many more chances to see them live.
But yes, prices for gigs are absolutely ridiculous now. Fees too. My ticket included £13 in fees and I don't even get a paper ticket!
Completely agree and that’s for all sporting events, gigs etc.I'd pay a couple of quid extra if there was an option to continue paper tickets. I collected loads of stubs over the years and ithat bit of nostalgia / memorabilia adds value imo.
Really liked the Head brothers previous band the Pale FountainsTwo gigs booked. Not in Cov. Shack in December in Brum (check them out if you've not heard of them) and I got a Kraftwerk ticket for Wolverhampton in May. £100! Ridiculous.
Well, that's where my Head journey started with the Pale Fountains circa 1982 and still one of my favourite bands. Loved them, loved Shack. Not so keen on the Red Elastic Band, but so happy Shack are back together.Really liked the Head brothers previous band the Pale Fountains
Them and The Desert Wolves are 2 of the great under appreciated bands of the 1980sWell, that's where my Head journey started with the Pale Fountains circa 1982 and still one of my favourite bands. Loved them, loved Shack. Not so keen on the Red Elastic Band, but so happy Shack are back together.
Coincidentally, I have my Paleys badge on my jacket today.

Ticket prices are insane post-covid and going up by the month. There's also been a very definite move to doing less shows but playing bigger venues and charging more.
Makes the whole thing horrifically expensive. Seeing acts now only play say a date at the o2 instead of touring the country in academy sized venues. But a midweek date at the o2 for me is two days off work, £100 plus ticket and a hotel so the number of gigs I'm going to has dropped drastically.
That's before the whole shitshow of trying to actually buy them. So many things wrong with the system. 'VIP' or 'platinum' tickets that offer nothing more than a better seat, dynamic prices, bots & huge numbers of tickets passing to resale, holding back the better seats until the ones at the back have sold. System is a complete mess.
At a point now where you're better off waiting until the last minute. For most shows there's a very late release of the best tickets that they've been trying to sell at inflated prices, or even better if shows don't sell out you can pick tickets up for next to nothing on seat filler sites.
The best gig I ever saw cost £4. Spiralling concert prices are a cultural disaster | John Harris
Tickets for big tours have vastly outstripped inflation, while smaller artists and venues struggle. The magic is in danger of being snuffed out entirely, says Guardian columnist John Harriswww.theguardian.com
Have a great time Daz,a great way to enjoy your Friday night.Gonna see Chris maccausland tonight at the Warwick Arts Centre , present from my daughter.

Technically there today and SaturdayThe Enemy at the Empire tomorrow.
Last night of the tour. Can't wait
Yes. We has great. Shame half the audience didn't know how to behave properly.Anyone else see Bob Dylan last night?

Tell me about it! Especially on the side, making too much noise. Saw Joe Elliot in the Anecdote and Stuart Linnell walking out at the end.Yes. We has great. Shame half the audience didn't know how to behave properly.
yeah, we went last night. i thought he was amazing.Anyone else see Bob Dylan last night?
They'd be the one's who weren't paying attention.yeah, we went last night. i thought he was amazing.
the only bad reviews i've seen are from non-fans who i presume went just to say they had seen him. which is a bit sad.
true. and with no phones to fiddle with they must have been going mad. hahahaThey'd be the one's who weren't paying attention.
It's very pleasing to hear that, great in fact.true. and with no phones to fiddle with they must have been going mad. hahaha
apart from the kick drum, which didn't quite sound mic'd up properly to me, i thought it was amazing. and it got better as the gig went on, and they really found their groove.
that boy can play harmonica!
i would have preferred a small, smoke filled bar, but it is what it is.
mobile phones are a pain in the arse. especially at gigs. The Enemy were great at the Empire last night. The crowd however was fucking awful.
People were absolutely paralytic and seemed to be treating it as a who can drink the most competition. More concerned with getting selfies of themselves than watching the band. And worst of all beer being chucked around everywhere.
I'm not really against a quick video or two of the band you're seeing. But the people who film the entire gig, or even worse, are just filming themselves. What's the point?mobile phones are a pain in the arse. especially at gigs.
fair play to dylan for insisting they were locked away. it made such a difference. i hope this catches on.
just enjoy the gig, rather than trying to record some piss poor footage of it that you will never look at again.

nice phones.Guess a few from on here went last night. Crowd didn't seem as twatish as reported on Friday. Few pints thrown and a mosh pit fight, but apart from that!
Top night. Great atmosphere, plenty of Cov songs. Band playing 'we are top of the league' was the personal highlight
