Where’s this one being played again? Right, fortress St Ans. In that case it must be a win.

I think we will win this one 2-1 but it will be hard fought - I think Wimbledon big lumps so personally would keep O'Hare as impact sub - is Mason fit?

Think I'd go with following team

Marosi
Mason (if fit if not McCallum)
Dabo
Hyam
MacFadzean
Shipley
Westbrooke
Walsh
Hiwula
Jonello
Godden

Subs: Wilson, Watson. MacCallum, Rose, O'Hare, Kastaneer, Baka

Everybody fit from Saturday’s game I’m certain it will be an unchanged team, I’m fast becoming a non fan of Hiwula and watching his reaction to our shot against the post sums up that opinion he just seems so unaware and his first touch and ball control rubbish. That was an open goal.

I’m going for a 2-1 win to City. Crowd 4500. Got to keep the momentum going. Godden to score both. I shall have one ear on the game. I’ll be watching Exeter v Port Vale tomorrow night after work. Won a competition for 2 hospitality tickets for the game.

Mason for McCallum and can see Kastaneer for hiwula as another change. Wouldn’t be surprised to see ohare in for westbrooke either

Hard fought with by the odd goal in three will do just fine

My grandmother could have scored that and she never played football and she's also dead.

It was coming fast and probably with some spin on it so I could actually forgive him for missing it but he absolutely HAS TO have a go first time there. Criminal that he tried to take a touch

That's a totally ridiculous statement. That picture does not tell the true story in any sense.

It was technically a very difficult ball to control and convert.

It's very easy to criticise and mock without having a clue as to what it takes to get to the level those guys are at on the pitch.

Equally, you could say that with the speed and spin it had, he HAD to take a touch.

Just shows that not every picture tells the whole story. If he had controlled it first touch, though......

I watched them against MK Dons on Sky and they loved the long ball up to Piggott to try and play off him.

Hopefully we will just stick McFadz on him for the aerial threat.

Confident of a victory.

I appreciate the calls for O’Hare, but I’d keep the same team unless Shipley is knackered. We played some great football last game before O’Hare was on, so I’d like to see them give another go. No point risking Mason, especially when McCallum has one of his strongest outings last game.

If we aren’t winning by HT, I’d bring on O’Hare and potentially Kasteener . The latter is an unknown quantity, but he hasn’t had enough game time to make an impact and show if he’s actually good at football or just a fast, enthusiastic unit. The former is an obvious game changer.

This is the sort of game where we’d slip up in the past, but not tonight. We’re a stronger team, both physically and mentally.

3-0, Godden, Dabo, Kasteener.

To be honest one of the reasons I am more confident in the current team than usual is that with the type of football we are playing,

The main threats to us losing are:

silly sending off (Dabo lol!)
opposition who are full of big 'uns capable of getting lots of balls in our area (Fleetwood)
similar good footballing team with similar/better attacking threats (Peterborough)
Most of the middle of the road teams we will beat at The Trillion, as I think we will get better (barring further key injuries)

No sending off tonight and Wimbledon's only threat is likely to be from set pieces. If we press them back (like Blackpool in the second half), should be fine.

One further thought - having seen the Burton game (and highlights of Posh v Rochdale) - I think we might need to go long more often in that game, as our passing around the back with Toney/Eisa could prove calamitous. Horses for courses and all that. Couldn't believe Blackpool didn't attempt to press us in the second half - I would have sacked their manager on the basis of that decision alone!

In fact the only one who doesn't know is Eddie Izzard. Hope it's not too much of a shock for him.

I'm sure he'll be too polite to say anything, but when he starts turning the lights off and puts his pyjamas on, then it's probably time to leave.

Tonight will be a good indication of whether this really is a different Coventry. There's been a hell of a lot of spirited performances so far this season and we've battled until the death, grabbing late goals at Portsmouth, Oxford and Blackpool and coming back from a 2 goal deficit against 2 of those teams. We're still not killing games off though when we are on top and that has been a theme in the previous 2 seasons. Only 1 game in 8 this season where we've won a game by 2 clear goals and that needed Kastaneer's superb strike against Bristol Rovers to kill the game off. The new players should be bedding in by now, the system we're playing understood by all but this Wimbledon side have P4 L4 away so will be defensive, physical and direct. Really looking forward to watching how we manage the game.

Heart says City win 3-1 with an early Hiwula goal dictating how the rest of the game is played. Head says a frustrating 1-1 with our issues breaking down defensive teams rearing their head again.

Usually love a midweek game but thought of train there and back + walk and probably a poor atmosphere is less enticing. I know I should back the team but spent a lot on it already this season so if there’s a game I’m gunna skip it’s tonight. iFollow for me unfortunately

Bring Mason back in for Mcallum but otherwise keep it un changed.

I have no doubt Wimbledon will press so we need comfortable ball players in centre mid. Only potential change would be Ohare in for Hiwula however Hiwula and Mason seen to have a good partnership.

Don’t understand why coaches are leaving so early - surely 6 would be a better time than 5:30??

Unfortunately not going tonight. Granddaughter got chicken pox and I’m staying for a few days (Buckinghamshire) while daughter and son in law go to work.
Going for a 2-0 victory. Same team as Saturday apart from resting McCallum (he has had a lot of football in last few weeks) and if robins thinks O’Hare can last 90 I would start him.

Have to disagree there. It's a pretty simple ball to control if he uses his left foot and it was relatively straightforward to have sidefooted first time too on his left. It's his decision to try and control a ball on his right foot that is travelling across him that turns into the difficult situation - I suspect he's pretty low on confidence based on his season so far, which contributed to that poor decision.

The thing that gives me heart is the second half performance against Blackpool. If we could perform like that what 65-70% of games rather than one half every 3 games or so.
You are right though that this is a good test of the statute of the team

It's annoying because MR told us all last year they were taking pointless touches because of the state of the Ricoh but here's Hiwula making it appear to be a bad habit of his.
