I think yesterday when he said how he can play anywhere was either justifying it last week or getting us ready for today to watch him on the right of midfield.

Wonder if JMD will be back in the squad

I hope Reid is. He is pretty useful in front of big crowds.

Agree, but even though I'm not a betting man I would gladly have a bit of a punt at William Hill on him being pushed out wide again.

If he keeps picking Doyle and Kelly and it keeps not working, fans are very quickly going to turn against him.

Kelly seemingly has hinted he's playing, so unless Doyle is injured or ill, it will bound sure to be the Kelly/Doyle partnership yet again.

Let's hope they surprise us if that is the case.

mcconville for Accrington on left is a very good player at this level, JMD and DKE would not fair well against him... I’d go Bayliss to start with on right

I reckon there will be a fair few turning up today and just thinking it's Accrington Stanley we are going to turn them over 7-0 and not really show them any respect. That sort of stuff will fire them up a bit more I think.

There are always fans like that. In League One it would have been it's only Scunthorpe or only Shrewsbury.

Bout time we realised where we are and the equal playing field we now find ourselves in.

In fairness we got bullied in midfield up there, Kelly wasn't playing. He's played in most if not all of our wins against the better sides

Earlier in the season though we were creating very, very little and Jodi Jones was being the constant game winner for us.

When Doyle and Kelly partner each other we lose creativity. I would be happy with them both to feature, but would change the system and have Bayliss playing in the hole just in front of them.

Just think having Bayliss out wide nullifies a lot of our creativity and we could really do with him in the middle.

I think it's vital we win today, I understand the thoughts we'd settle for a draw at minimum but I just cannot see us improving our fortunes away that much.

Massive day ahead and a heavy expectation with possibly a huge crowd all the ingredients ccfc have crumbled under at home previously.

Should we dare to lose, I think I'll give here a miss till tomorrow. Toxic evening ahead....

When we lose today, everybodys gonna say, would have settled for a draw!

I don't think Bayliss would do that much either, I'd say DKE would do better by being in his face all game.

MR could play Vincenti in front of DiKE to offer protection, but then attack can be the best form of defence in JMD

I don't think Vincenti has enough about him defensively. He can dangle his leg and put in a tackle but if he gets beaten there's no way he is catching somebody on the break.

So, they believe the pressure will be on City? Probably right as well!

We could do with an early goal to settle any nerves for both the players and fans.

I think he can, granted he's not the quickest but he's enough about him and experience to put himself in the right areas to counter that.

Options are limited currently to Vincenti, JMD or Bayliss out wide again. Or play DiKE further forwards and put Willis at right back

I thought that Vincenti would be another James Scowcroft for us, who contrary to popular opinion on this forum, I thought was pretty effective for us. I have been left disappointed so far though, so hopefully there's improvement to come.

The key to vincenti is playing him in the right position to utilise his height.... I’m just not sure what position that is.... he’s not a winger and definitely not a striker

He was highly regarded for Rochdale in the league above

I think he would be better as a central midfielder but more attacking than a Doyle / Kelly.

I also wonder whether he’s on the decline after some bad injuries in the past...

He started really well against Wycombe in December then did his MCL!

I could see his main strength being in a central position arriving late in the box for crosses, but the position we have played him so far doesn't compliment that at all. Not sure we could even accommodate that role for him.

Just wondering where they have performed on the big stage? They came back into the football league back in 2006 and are still here.

No giant killings in the FA Cup this year, they lost at home to Guisley. In the League Cup they lost to West Brom. They lost at home to league leaders Luton in the league.

In the FA Cup last year they lost at Middlesbrough and at West Ham in the League Cup. In the league last season they ended up just 6 points off the playoff places, but lost 2 out of their last 3 games. Had they won those they would have probably made it.

I don't get when they have performed on the big stage. The odd cup win against stronger opposition and they might well have put in decent efforts, but they lost all those big games in the last two years.

When they spank us today hopefully it's like when I slate a player then they score but in reverse.

He's right though, the pressure is on us

Accrington haven’t been on the big stage since the 60’s.

I know this is Coventry City, but haven't we beaten just about every team in and around the top 6 and haven't we beaten Premier League Stoke and League One MK Don's in the cup?

We really, really shouldn't fear them at all today.

I have just two concerns. Illness and injury. I think THAT could be our downfall and nowt else.

Just set off from Nottingham, excited for today. Keep suddenly remembering it’s going to be 28k+, definitely hasn’t sunk in yet!

I can see it being cagey but I’m going with my heart, home advantage and blind loyalty, 2-0 PUSB

Just a thought: If DiKe is not fit, (he has had a knee problem I think), then Kelly could play at RB, assuming he is now fit. With Vincente at RM to track back and provide some 'bite' on that side? Then Bayliss and Doyle would play in the middle and Shipley on the left. Then he could bring Reid off the bench as an impact sub when they get tired. It's all pure speculation anyway, because we don't know who will be fit enough to play.

No surprises from the clubs instagram. Haynes, McNulty, Burge, O'Brien, Ponti and Biamou all in the squad today.
