Be surprised if he's available tbh

Looked like a pretty definite concussion and it's minimum 21 days return to play (with various things to complete along the way) under the FA concussion guidelines if that's the case
That's in the non professional game. Its a minimum of 12 days in the professional game (with Enhanced Care) as long as they pass the 6 stages of recovery and can even be reduced to 7 days in exceptional circumstances.

Mmm not just sure we will see Rudoni yet though - at best in the bench - EMC is pretty solid reckon he will be back - If Wright has any time on the pitch Wednesday he will be bench minimum

Rudy will be on the bench, unless he’s had set back.

expect EMC to play also. He had some stitches, think it was more a facial injury then full concussion (clearly head injuries tricky and unknown, so a lot more care taken nowadays)

I’ve a feeling we may see Simms start, depending how much game time HW gets for US on Wednesday. (Big game Tuesday also, expect HW to start that)

Simms starts for me, regardless of Wright being away/playing minutes. You can only give a player enough chances before other players will start to question when they will get their opportunity.

Rudi on the bench hopefully, ease him back in... otherwise I'd go unchanged from Stoke.

Concussion can be deadly serious, when I was working on a site 45 years ago a site land rover was involved in an accident on a public road where the priorities had been changed and a lad sitting in the back bumped his head. The next day we got to work and heard he had died that night. Absolutely tragic he was only 17 or 18. I don't think he even went to hospital because he felt fine just a little bruised. This was over a decade before compulsory seat belt wearing came in.

Beautiful  I always had to follow the standard pathway with players in the academy as this was the pre-King days and enhanced care was a pipe dream

Sorry to hear that mate :(

It's such an important condition for everyone to understand - you get some moron fans complaining about the head injury rules but they are there to save lives as well as all they dementia prevention stuff. As you say it often just looks like a minor bump on the head but any concussion is ultimately a traumatic brain injury.

Personally I'd say anyone 21 and under should not be able to be fast tracked, even if they're a first team regular.
I completely agree, and would maybe even take it slightly further! Comes down to the judgement of the medical staff but I (and most other clinicians) agree entirely due to the importance of cerebral development until roughly mid-20s

Difficulties just arise when there are pressures from player, family, other staff etc who all want that player on the pitch regardless of a 'bump on the head'! The other staff at the academy were great when I was there tbf but in lots of sporting environments it can be pretty grim...
