If Haaland doesn’t play or doesn’t score in the final, Simms will certainly finish joint top scorer in the cup with Szmodics, second most assists too.
Simms was a monster today once the game was stretched. He used his strength and pace really well ,also made very intelligent use of the ball too .If Haaland doesn’t play or doesn’t score in the final, Simms will certainly finish joint top scorer in the cup with Szmodics, second most assists too.
Surprised Godden didn’t take any. Simms needs to have stepped up as well.Sheaf was wayward all game, should never have been taking one.
Godden was 5 wasn't he ? And has Simms ever took one ?Surprised Godden didn’t take any. Simms needs to have stepped up as well.

Brilliant stuff
I suspect we might have a few polite enquiries in the summerHe’s easily going to be back playing Premiership football after next season … with us hopefully.
Probably for a number of players, unfortunately.I suspect we might have a few polite enquiries in the summer
Eccles creates loads but some people never see it. He created our only decent chance in the first half and he was playing in a much harder formation as we were outnumbered as we had five defenders. Torp was great but so was Eccles.Thought that Sheaf and Torp showed the potential to be a hello of a partnership for that hour as well today. Torp coming on seemed to make sheaf even better as he knew he had somebody that could pick out different angles. Torp was always showing and some great switches of play. Hopefully Torp can get up to full speed.
(I think Eccles did a job too, but still has limitations as a progressive midfielder consistently)
He was our best player at that pointThough Eccles was really unlucky to be taken off.
He was our best player at that point
He was superb but Simms changed the game and once he scored United couldn’t contain him . Torp was also very good when he came on alsoThought MvE was excellent throughout.
I think it was fatigue, as he and Sheaf had to cover so much ground in the first half, as we were a player down due to five at the back. Fortunately Torp played well too. I was fearful after how bad Torp was at Birmingham but we saw a different player today.Though Eccles was really unlucky to be taken off.

Yes as someone on here said recently something to the effect of: if he was called Janne Van Ekles and we'd bought him for a couple of million from the Dutch league more people would appreciate how good he is.He was our best player at that point
Sorry to disappoint you but I really don't think Eccles is going to be replaced any time soon.I love Eccles and he is very much part of our future. But I also think Torp could be a better player long term.
(I agree he did a very good job with a very hard task in the first half) My post was just focused on the progression
I’m genuinely excited and hopeful that we start next season with Sheaf , Eccles , Torp and a new signing to compete for the two central midfield rolesI love Eccles and he is very much part of our future. But I also think Torp could be a better player long term.

I keep being tempted to put the whole game recording on (starting 65 minutes in of course)Thought I was ready to watch the highlights, but I wasn't![]()
Best game I’ve ever been to in all honesty. The atmosphere when the penalty was won was incredible.
dream like when Torp scored the disallowed goal. Just seen it back, it’s disappointing but by the book Wright was offside.
60 minutes onwards we were superb. All 3 subs were fantastic and should finish the season in the starting XI. Tavares caused chaos.
Great turn out by the SBA and that day will remain within me forever.

Saddlebrains says we are after exciting players , so let’s seeDepending on the quality of number 10's available a flat 3 could work well for us especially in certain games. Depends what MR can get in I guess
There were five subs BTW. All were very good and I include Godden in that.Best game I’ve ever been to in all honesty. The atmosphere when the penalty was won was incredible.

Da Silva was good. Godden had a few knockdowns but very good is a stretchThere were five subs BTW. All were very good and I include Godden in that.
87 cup final beats it as it was the final.Best game I’ve ever been to in all honesty. The atmosphere when the penalty was won was incredible.
