Robins probably thinks that's Palmer. He can't wait to get the favourite dream team of Godden, Palmer and Allen together.

Perhaps MR thinks Saka will have joy against their left-hand side. That's the only reason for taking Simms off. Unless Simms has been ill this week too and MR is protecting him a bit.
