We can confirm promotion on Saturday, without Ipswich even being in the picture , so I don't think that is that important , though it would be really nice

If both Millwall and Boro fail to win and we beat Sheff Weds, we are promoted and that's official.

The Ipswich game would only help in terms of the probability of us becoming champions
It's important to me. I really have little interest in being second. I get that just being in the Premier League is an achievement. Winning the championship trophy is what matters to me. Others don't have to agree.

I agree that it would taint things slightly, but I'm pretty certain that 2 wins from 5 will do it.

I don't think we'll confirm it this weekend.
Fancy baggies to take something off Millwall but can't see boro dropping points to Portsmouth.

I'll genuinely be gutted if we don't win the league now. Which is crazy as I would have sold both of my children to the highest bidder in August if I was offered second.

Promtion is done at 5pm Saturday if both Millwall and Boro fail to win and we beat Wednesday

Millwall/Boro draw it gives them a maximum return of 85, lose it is 84.

In theory we could go up automatically without winning another point.

I knew that, then I didn't, now I do again.

My heads spinning!

Promotion is done if we win on Saturday.
The party begins when we seal the title, in my book - which won't be at Blackburn.

I've put this in another thread

If we win this weekend and promotion is confirmed then a board marking the achievement is likely to be erected after the game at Blackburn Rovers on Friday, April 17, where over 7,000 fans will be making the trip for the televised game at Ewood Park.

but the way I see it there's going to be numerous parties/celebrations,
1. for promotion which might be confirmed this weekend,
2. the promotion board at Blackburn to confirm it
3 for title confirmation at home to Portsmouth
4.for the title lift at home to Wrexham
and then one for the parade.

So all in all we are getting pissed from this weekend onwards 😂

The Norwich v Ipswich game is more important for us. Let's face it, if we win on Saturday, only Ipswich have any chance of catching us. Millwall and Middlesbrough will have disappeared in the rear view mirror 🪞 mere dots.
On that basis we will know at 2.30 on Saturday the result of Norwich v Ipswich and will be able to predict with confidence promotion and, possibly, the title.

Just beat Sheffield Weddnesday first then think about it! They are not coming here to lay down and let us walk over them!

It’s straightforward.

For promotion we need 4 points. They can be points we win OR points BOTH Boro and Millwall drop

For the title we need 10 points. They can be points we win OR points Ipswich drop.

We win and Boro and Millwall drop 2 points = 5 points = promotion.

We draw and Boro and Millwall lose = 4 points = promotion.

We win and one or more of them wins = 3 points and we go to next game needing 1 point for promotion. Etc

Yep very simple

The 10 points one is fun too

I would agree, but just think you are getting ahead of yourself.

Surely the most important thing first and foremost is to officially achieve promotion.

Get that in the bag and then consider Ipswich, if we have to, as a serious title contender. Which I don't believe they are anyway.

One step at a time.

Most important thing is promotion, so let's get that in the bag and sealed.

It would be absolutely fantastic to be promoted on Saturday, with STILL 4 games to go

Of course I want Norwich to beat Ipswich, but number one item of importance to me is for us to get promoted first.

We can do that on Saturday and that would be absolutely brilliant if that occured.
