I suspect it will be tougher than many think. I think we need to use the squad and get more energy and intensity early on. Get the crowd going.

Yeah, there’s some short memories. It wasn’t long ago some fans were disappearing early or booing when oxford came here, shoved 11 behind the ball and nicked a 0-0

Sheff Wed have shown a lot of heart considering they’ve been nailed on for going down for most of the season. Hopefully we get an early goal or two and take it from there though

I think this should be a game to suit Simms, who always seems to get goals against poorer sides, and also giving more minutes to Esse and Markelo. I'd also give KKH a start. Probably start pretty strong though to try and put the game to bed before resting players, and depends on how Saka and Onyeka are as they looked to be struggling a bit towards the end. Might be a good game to give Allen a run off the bench late on to get him one away from 200 appearances.

Rushworth
KKH Thomas* Lati Dasilva
Onyeka (Allen/Eccles) Grimes (Torp)
Sakamoto (Markelo) Rudoni (BTA) EMC (Esse)
Simms

Subs: Wilson, Kitching*, MvE, Allen/Eccles, Torp, BTA, Esse, Markelo, Wright

I can't see any way that MVE is rested.

FL will undoubtedly pick his strongest side in order to get us over the line.

Start with the best 11 and then if we are a couple of goals up, then is the time to look at the likes of KKH.

Won't be easy; they've not really folded for anyone recently.

We can't take the piss. Strongest team until it's in the bag.
Sorry but I disagree. Best side out wins easily, but the side against Derby with players ready to finish it off if needed for me. Keep the energy levels up if needed.

It feels like a cup game against a lower league team. I think it's far more tricky than most are assuming. It would be so on message for us to gift them their second win of the season as a result of complacency.

Start the strongest team available, but definitely want to see Markelo given a decent amount of game time (~30 mins).

I like Esse, but Markelo is the permanent signing (albeit wouldn’t be surprised to see Esse sign) so it’s more beneficial to see him get game time and I think we’ve all been impressed by his limited cameos so far too - so good to see him get a proper go.

I think we'll be promoted this weekend, obviously need to wait for other results to come in.

6-0.

L Palmer 11 seasons in Championship & Scottish international
M Lowe 5 seasons in Champ, plus played in Prem & SPL
D Iorfa 10 Champ seasons
S Ingelsonn 2nd year in Champ, ex Serie A
J Lowe 7 years in Champ
I Ugbo 5 seasons in Champ, also played in Ligue 1 and Canada international
J Yates 6 seasons in Champ
N Chalaboah England full cap, over 50 prem games, ex Serie A
L Cooper Scottish international, 3 years in Prem
M Nakamba 40 Zimbabwe caps, 70 odd games in Prem and Eredivisie
T Adaramola played for City

Not saying that they haven't been gutted by Chansari, or that we shouldn't be winning comfortably (and I wouldn't want any of them even cleaning Rapha's boots), but their squad isn't quite the churchmice and orphans list.

Not a disaster if we're not 5 up after 20 min.

I mean they are the worst side in championship history.

Lampard is right, we need to show respect though. Can't go in thinking we'll cruise it but also no need to panic if it's 0-0 at HT. Just play the game.

And yet, one win all season.

Quite right- just think it's interesting when you look at the squad in a bit more detail- should they actually be that bad? Suspect the general low morale/being doomed from day one has been a big factor, but they ain't Bedduth U-9s. Only drawing with Lesta does suggest their spirit is broken.

No way we will be complacent on Saturday

Not unless we go a couple of goals up and then take the foot off the pedal to give them a way back into the game.

FL will have us fired up for this one. Fabulous home record, been on a great run and know a win would pretty much nail it for once and for all.

It may not be pretty, but I am absolutely confident of 3 points, as we all shoild be.

Frank and his team most definitely won't be complacent. Whether that effectively transmits to the players will be interesting.

We have lost so many home cup games against lower division teams in recent years - Wrexham and Northampton spring immediatelty to mind. There are many others. This season, our poor home draws against Norwich (when they were rubbish) and Oxford are also notable.

This match is Sheffield Wednesday's last big chance of a big result, and they'll be up for it. A low block can be a real challenge to break down. The inability of both Simms and Wright to make themselves available for the ball out of defence (the classic case of wining the outback, laying it off and then moving forward with pace) can be such a frustration in these situations. Again, both can do it, but in many games they do not.

We should win, but it's potentially tough if we fail to score early.

We're 1.08 to beat Sheffield Wednesday on the site I use. That's put a quid on to win 8p 😁 Even clubs like Barcelona are bigger odds against poor sides. Expecting us to win isn't complacency but reality. They have our team spirit but not skill.

Whilst on about odds... they have Ipswich 40/1 to finish 1st. Worth a nibble for those who are still worried about us finishing 1st. They have us at 1/200. That's a good profit for the bookies.

My 'stupid' bet on Southampton to finish 2nd at 100/1 is looking slightly more promising after just 1 game. Their 1-5 demolition of team Hollywood has put their odds down to 18/1. Ipswich are 2/5, Middlesbrough 7/2 and Millwall at 10/1.

Had Southampton at 10/3 for promotion. WishId put a silly couple of quid on for the autos.
Couple more wins like last night and you'll make money on the cash out
