It's important to me. I really have little interest in being second. I get that just being in the Premier League is an achievement. Winning the championship trophy is what matters to me. Others don't have to agree. We can confirm promotion on Saturday, without Ipswich even being in the picture , so I don't think that is that important , though it would be really nice
If both Millwall and Boro fail to win and we beat Sheff Weds, we are promoted and that's official.
The Ipswich game would only help in terms of the probability of us becoming champions

I agree that it would taint things slightly, but I'm pretty certain that 2 wins from 5 will do it.It's important to me. I really have little interest in being second. Will be better sealing it at Blackburn anyway.I don't think we'll confirm it this weekend.
Fancy baggies to take something off Millwall but can't see boro dropping points to Portsmouth.
I'll genuinely be gutted if we don't win the league now. Which is crazy as I would have sold both of my children to the highest bidder in August if I was offered second. It's important to me. Think if clinching at home is off table most would prefer to clinch away to Blackburn rather than 5pm SaturdayI don't think we'll confirm it this weekend.

Promotion 1 point at blackburn if we win saturdayWill be better sealing it at Blackburn anyway.
Would we need a win there or will a point do (permutations anyone?)
Point if we beat wednesdayWill be better sealing it at Blackburn anyway.

A draw providing we beat Sheff WWill be better sealing it at Blackburn anyway.

If those 2 drop points and we win, it's done
Edit - no its not!
Lets get Russell Slade back in to finish the job thenIn theory we could go up automatically without winning another point.
Promtion is done at 5pm Saturday if both Millwall and Boro fail to win and we beat Wednesday
Millwall/Boro draw it gives them a maximum return of 85, lose it is 84.

Get the flags on seats ready for the Wrexham game Doug…. Ooops was I not meant to tell everyone 🫣Promotion is done if we win on Saturday.
The party begins when we seal the title, in my book - which won't be at Blackburn.

Just beat Sheffield Weddnesday first then think about it! They are not coming here to lay down and let us walk over them! The Norwich v Ipswich game is more important for us. Let's face it, if we win on Saturday, only Ipswich have any chance of catching us. Millwall and Middlesbrough will have disappeared in the rear view mirrormere dots.
On that basis we will know at 2.30 on Saturday the result of Norwich v Ipswich and will be able to predict with confidence promotion and, possibly, the title.
PUSB
Any kind of performance from us and we win easily.Just beat Sheffield Weddnesday first then think about it! They are not coming here to lay down and let us walk over them!
Not gonna take back anything I've already said about their modellingPromotion Opta below 100%!!! Down to 99.98% after Southampton
Back up to 100 now lolNot gonna take back anything I've already said about their modelling
A member of the Opta team saw a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil and punched it into his iPad.Back up to 100 now lol
Love it
Where’s your percentage at?A member of the Opta team saw a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil and punched it into his iPad.
Yep very simpleIt’s straightforward.
For promotion we need 4 points. They can be points we win OR points BOTH Boro and Millwall drop
For the title we need 10 points. They can be points we win OR points Ipswich drop.
We win and Boro and Millwall drop 2 points = 5 points = promotion.
We draw and Boro and Millwall lose = 4 points = promotion.
We win and one or more of them wins = 3 points and we go to next game needing 1 point for promotion. Etc
Funnily enough, 99.98% feels about right to me nowWhere’s your percentage at?
Yep I hear youFunnily enough, 99.98% feels about right to me nowi.e. two chances in 10,000...
It was the 99.94 (or whatever) BEFORE the last two rounds of favourable results that I took issue with.
I would agree, but just think you are getting ahead of yourself. It's important to me. I really have little interest in being second. I get that just being in the Premier League is an achievement. Winning the championship trophy is what matters to me. Others don't have to agree.
Yeah, we are jumping the gun a bit I fear. Can we just concentrate on winning our game
Surely the party begins as soon as we are promoted?Promotion is done if we win on Saturday.
