To to put in context Sheffield Weds record before playing us today was

Played 41 W1 D10 L30 GF25 GA82 GD-57 PTS 13

it does happen though - wolves drawing with Arsenal could cost them the title

Just typical of how the Championship works. One of those things.

I imagine we’ll see a reaction from the players next week

I don’t get why Lampard dropped Simms two games ago for an unfit wright. Just as simms looked like he had his confidence back

Because he isn’t good enough. Ironically today we’d have probably been better starting him as Wednesday were tiring rapidly and conceding space as the game went on

Whatever wrights issues are he’s always going to be the premier striker when it’s him or Simms. There’s negativity around wright and positivity round Simms which I don’t get. Today Simms showed what he is. Poor even at this level

I mean at the level we are at - a team at the top and looking to win the title. Lampard doesn’t rate him looking at his selections since he’s been here - true?

Is Wright not fit? Can only explain his poor performances, but then why on earth is Lampard playing him?

Because the alternative is worse as we saw today

I take your point mate, but (entirely in my opinion) they didn't look nervous, they looked like they thought they'd win the game without really trying.

If we'd got into them early, played it like it was a cup final, then the place would have lifted off and I'm sure we'd have turned them over by a few.

Instead we just knocked the ball around in the expectation Wednesday would slip up, and they didn't. Then it all went flat and we couldn't step it up. Immensely frustrating.

We'll still go up, I'm sure, and Lampard has still done an amazing job, but it just hurts a bit not putting it to bed today.

Anyhow, worse things happen at sea mate - hope you're well regardless, and onwards and (literally) upwards. 🙂
Nah think it was the nerves/pressure. Didn’t get any sense of arrogance.

I thought Simms provided way more of a threat and was physically more of a problem. Yes , he fluffed a chance, but I’d prefer that to what we saw from Wright

He was dreadful. A chest back to a goalkeeper and missed chances. Lampard doesn’t rate him and that’s that l

That's a sensible post up until that final sentence.

He has significant limitations which means he'll never thrive above this level, but he's a good Championship striker, as his goal record attests.

His main failing is his lack of anticipation; that cost us today.

Again, a professional should be more up for something like this than anything else. It’s what they’re paid to do.
Yeah, but that's football. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This sort of thing has been happening since the invention of the game.

Every team gets days like this. It was an off day and no-one had their shooting boots on.

Rudoni fluffed one. EMC fluffed one and so too did Wright, Simms and BTA.

I am deflated for sure, but look where we sit in the league and look how close we are.

I think we will be much better against Blackburn

Obviously.

Would you pick the second option of those two given then?

Would you push a button that gave you a billion quid nine times out of ten but changed your sex once out of ten?

I dunno man it’s not a thing. Having been top of the league almost all season and having missed the only title win in my lifetime a few years ago thanks to a global pandemic I want the title.

A couple of efforts were shocking, however, the overhead kick was probably our best effort all game

the Kitching header was the best
