In fairness , we looked awful first half
Before they scored, I said to my mate ‘we’ve got the beating of this lot’ and almost like a jinx, Sheff U battered us and deserved to take the lead.

A lot of people calling for BTA to play LW will see that on today’s evidence, it won’t work. BTA looks awkward at LW imo.

EMC didn’t play particularly well imo, but somehow changed the game! Hes a lot more comfortable receiving the ball out wide and dribbling past defenders than BTA. Idk the niche tactical tweaks, but BTA operates at a better level at RW than LW.

We were fine until their goal went in and looked the better team. Their goal was against the run of play and people on here were saying otherwise - they were wrong. Once they scored though we were shite until 2nd half

With the EMC sub, no disrespect to the man as he was good, but he could have been any warm body that hugged the touchline, it’s what we needed. Width / a natural wide player. BTA was better when playing centrally that second half anyway.

Ok the weeks may have been frustration but we won't hold this position. Delighted with the win though

Not that the BBC is the bastion of quality / accurate journalism, but to quote from the match report…

“McCallum's goal came slightly against the run of play”

Half of these are perfectly understandable in the moment stuff! The other half however…

Let’s just say I’m glad the players don’t think like this when we go 1-0 down 🤣
I was proud of our fans reaction to the Sheff U goal. Immediately with a very loud “sky blue army”. There are always some individual whoppers in every fanbase but on the whole we’re pretty good.

Tough 1st half but I thought overall we played alright 2nd half.

We won ugly but got it done.

Difficult game Saturday but win and we could be 5 clear.

Would take a point though
Why settle for a draw, lets make a statement and bury them.. thanks Mark for the memories but we take no prisoners

Not how I saw it. Had a spell when we did but at half time I'd seen plenty to leave me confident we'd turn it round.
Looked to me like we’d gone back to some of last season’s bad habits and confidence wasn’t there. Lampard alluded to as much after the game and the tempo was much better after half time.

Those of you that didn't/don't want EMC in our starting eleven. Hang your heads , you don't know football.
We definitely need a left winger, but EMC, much as I have always liked him, does have to up his game. Rather than giving all the credit to EMC, it might have been something said by Lampard at half time.

Indeed and the EMC song was great at the start of the second half before we scored.

Great result last night.

Worried the occasion and Wrexham might of dragged us down after the first goal.

Contrary to others, I thought the first half was not too bad just lacked some energy which EMC helped when he came on.

Need to go at Stoke like we did in the second half. Huge potential lead in the league if we manage to win and results go our way

Yes McCallum and O’Hare were their two best players. I wonder if either regrets leaving us? I did think if we had both in our squad we would look very strong.

McCallum, O’Hare, Hamer and that winger from Sweden would round the squad out nicely. Get it done Doug.

It did come after our biggest period of momentum first half, but against the run of play is a little exaggeration.

The idea we could keep winning games so comfortably and by big margins was silly. Plus, it's football, you get odd results that don't reflect the game. Like Norwich and Oxford.

It's great we seem to have the ability to win tough games and not let going s goal behind affect us. I guess that's the confidence they can have when they know the team has goals in it.

Asante now on 10 goals. Such a great start. He could be on for 20 goals and Wright could join him if he picks up again. So rare to see so many goals. Very enjoyable
