Think it’s harsh to pin the result on him, not to criticise his individual performance which was poor. Kitching was also guilty of standing and staring first half, just his errors weren’t punished.
The very weak midfield I think was the biggest factor, and that stemmed from Lampard not heeding the warnings from the Watford game.
She’s got Sexy eyes!!Who told you that? Sylvia's mother?
I genuinely believe United have fallen into the trap and have become what they panned Wednesday for being for years, a club with a bloated squad that is decent on paper but underperforms whilst picking up a vastly overinflated wageOh come on, of course they are a good team with good players doesn’t take a genius to work that one out…..same as with Southampton who are just not having a good start. It’s deluded to think that both are shit
It’s hilarious how bad Sheffield United are doing this season though, would love to see them go down
I guess my point is that even if Thomas starts that game fully fit, it still doesn’t change the result in my opinion. I’m not disagreeing with your assessment of Woolf’s performance at all, to be clear.Again though, why? He mistimed the header for the second goal and he was caught flat footed for the third.
It's not harsh to call out players for poor performances, especially the likes of Wolfenden who is a very capable player at this level and should do better.
The midfield was poor but the bigger issue if anything was our ability to halt attacks down the flanks. All three goals came from us being far too pedestrian out wide and allowing balls coming into the box or being threaded through.
For the likes of Bidwell I almost expect it as really he's well past his best and the only reason he's playing is because Brau is clearly nowhere near where Lampard hoped he'd be. KKH is another which hasn't started enough and is clearly rusty which isn't his fault but again, he's shown he's very capable at this level and should do better.

I know many on here are desperate for Lampard to play him at left back but i cant see it happening.Danger for far too much over analysing of Friday - it's the championship, those results happen. At the moment it only happened once, so the credit is well and truly in the bank.
KKH and Wolf have play minimal football, it's really hard to just rock in and be at those levels, especially away from home. Give them time, they are good players.
We were just not at it, for what ever reason, but if we had gone with extra midfielder, that alone would have made a huge difference - lets keep calm and roll onto tomorrow - where I expect we will tweak back to what worked better and in turn, give us a platform to win.
There will be more "Fridays" through the season, key is keeping them to a minimum.
*also would expect KKH to play left back now if any issue with JDS, Bidwell been solid servant, but Father Time caught up last season and we have also moved on
Best not to mess him around playing him all over the pitch I think. Get him used to playing our way of playing first, experiment later.I know many on here are desperate for Lampard to play him at left back but i cant see it happening.
If we were playing, say, Oxford tomorrow... 18th in league and 13th in the form table. A lot of people would be a) confident of a win; and b) questioning if we lost. They've stripped out their best players and apart from Tanganga replaced them with cheap or just outright bizarre replacements who are objectively much worse than their predecessors.
What was a good side has actually become incredibly average.

But we are not... we are playing a team 4 places below them in the table and 6 places below in the form table... but there is a fear from name only, and maybe a bit of bomb damage from the game last season.
Cooper is a top keeper to be fair, and for their goals against to be so poor despite him is pretty revealing. They still have some very good players such as Cooper and Hamer - and of course O'Hare as well. But then there's a huge drop in quality outside of that bubble.
In essence, they're an incredibly mismatched side now and it's showing.
The fact that behind Campbell and O'Hare there's only been two other goal scorers this season with one a piece is shocking.
In Burger King outside the groundSo, where do we think Hamer will be for this game? In the Sheffield dugout or in Singers corner?
Burrows was really good last season but even he seems to have dropped well off.Cooper is a top keeper to be fair, and for their goals against to be so poor despite him is pretty revealing.

I’m sure he’s a perfectly nice guy but something about that kit of theirs makes everyone look like a wanker. Of course the likes of Campbell already are.Burrows was really good last season but even he seems to have dropped well off.
Really like Burrows. Dasilva has stepped up massively this season, but I'd take him or Sam Mccallum as a replacement if they were available.Burrows was really good last season but even he seems to have dropped well off.

Funny because i see it. He looks like a total bellend. It's 100% the kit.I’m sure he’s a perfectly nice guy but something about that kit of theirs makes everyone look like a wanker. Of course the likes of Campbell already are.
Still don’t really get why we didn’t go in for McCallum when he was free.Really like Burrows. Dasilva has stepped up massively this season, but I'd take him or Sam Mccallum as a replacement if they were available.
Am I back in GCSE science? You need to do the lending of textbooks now!Perhaps. Woolf and KKH have both joined us from Group 1, but the rest of the defence are in Group 4. So we’ve got two players trying to form ionic bonds with a mostly covalent defence.
Again though, why? He mistimed the header for the second goal and he was caught flat footed for the third.

I got the impression from Saddle that he was ours if we wanted him, then we declined and Stoke came in before Sheff eventually got him.Am I back in GCSE science? You need to do the lending of textbooks now!
I get the point, MVE-Thomas-Kitching-JDS have all been playing and training with one another for 3 seasons now. 4 for Thomas and Kitch specifically.
He had a bad game, as did Bidwell. Ironically, despite ‘England’s Number 1’ chants, Rushworth probably could’ve done better too. I’ve not rewatched the highlights yet.
Allen is a good role player but he has his limitations and that was apparent v Wrexham and even Watford to an extent. I don’t think he and Grimes compliment one another that well
We did, I get the impression Sheff U outbid us.
Perhaps, but I just can’t see that happening given how much Robins rated McCallum, tried to push out Bidwell once or twice and dropped JDS.I got the impression from Saddle that he was ours if we wanted him, then we declined and Stoke came in before Sheff eventually got him.
And this is why it's so difficult to build a squad with like for like back-up in each position.Perhaps, but I just can’t see that happening given how much Robins rated McCallum, tried to push out Bidwell once or twice and dropped JDS.
If he was asking for silly wages, then declining him seems more plausible. McCallum is probably fuming that Sheff U brought him in, only to then add Burrows as first choice.
It’s probably one of the many reasons why Sheff U are in a spot of bother right now.And this is why it's so difficult to build a squad with like for like back-up in each position.
And he’d be in big trouble from Sheff U POV for fraternising with the enemy!
He's pretty much as advertised, great going forward but ropey in defence. He was like that in League 1 and it's even worse in this league.Burrows was really good last season but even he seems to have dropped well off.
Last season he got away with that a lot more though in a better overall team. He's pretty much as advertised, great going forward but ropey in defence. He was like that in League 1 and it's even worse in this league.
