We are top of the league in February no one expected that in August, think we all need to get behind the teams more than ever, hopefully pulling them out of this shit form.Away from home just want us to play a back 5 4 in midfield 1 forward just to start making us hard to beat.I wouldn't mind seeing us have a go with 2 up top at home for this game,or keep Rudoni within 18 yard box and stop drifting to the wings(but put a great cross in for Eccles).

Amazing the number of people that think we won’t start a player we’ve agreed to sign if we get promoted. Are we just thinking too soon?

We've now reached a fork in the road and in my opinion it can go either way dependent on the team's mentality and integration/performance of new signings.

Are we this season's Sunderland (18 points from the last 16 games) or Burnley (42 points)? Believe it or not, they were level after 30 games, both on 58 points.

Alternatively we could be this season's Sheff Utd and be somewhere in the middle (29 points from the last 16). Would that be enough or would we suffer their fate, finish 3rd and go on to lose out in the play offs? Incidentally, we ourselves achieved 28 points in those last 16 games.
That would be 86 take that
Might not be top two though

Agreed he won't becoming to sit on the bench , Onyeka will play with him
Exactly that. Grimes' calmness and passing and his keeping things ticking along, alongside Onyeka's energy and strength and ball winging abilities.

I don't particularly think Grimes needs resting (unless carrying an injury), I think he needs helping out

Then we will see the Matt Grimes we all know and love.

Fitness I think

He’s just come back from AFCON and has been training with a PL team all season. I think it’s bad enough Markelo seemingly can’t keep himself fit over a two week break, but no reason Onyeka shouldn’t be.

If I was told at the start of the season we were in the same position but had lost a few games a long the way I would have taken it. The fans need to hold their nerve, the losses have come along all at once which has pissed on every ones chips. If Onyeki signs then he can be the link between Grimes and the forward thinking players although a lot of the midfield and forwards have forget that you defend from the front. Arguably a bigger game than the one to follow, if they get it right and score a few it will give them the confidence for the game to follow. I always thought we would be play offs again this season but if we can get 6 points from the next two then I think we will go auto. A clean sheet has got to be Franks aim on this one, give the defence a boost and we can set up to counter attack away from home. Keep the faith and a comfortable 3-0 on the way.

He could have been chained up in a basement being held hostage by ISIS for the last 6 months and he'd still probably be fitter than Torp.

I think the issue with Markelo is that thanks to a combination of suspensions and agitating for a move, he’s only played about 60 minutes of first team football in the last two months.

Hadn’t Bassette also gone on strike at his club before signing here?

Will fit right into our first team then (zing!)

Assuming Onyeka signs I’d drop Grimes but not change shape. Kamikaze seems to work at home against teams that aren’t Ipswich even if the football is a bit crap.

Rushworth
MvE Thomas Lats Dasilva
Onyeka Torp
Saka Rudoni EMC/Esse
Wright

Chuck some of our many wingers on and swap strikers at 60/70 mins like always.

Grimes alongside Onyeka, and Torp at 10 in place of Rudoni for me

Plus I would be tempted to play Woolf if you’re dropping Kitching, but wouldn’t necessarily drop Kitching in the first place, he’s still a very good centre half despite the couple of recent mistakes, and better to play and get them out of the system than to be dropped and compound the issues

depending on EMC’s injury, I’d also play Minny on the left, and Esse to continue on the right with Saka on for impact around 60 mins

A lot of eyes on the Hull and Ipswich games tomorrow. Need some fuck ups here otherwise we could be going into our match against Oxford needing to win to stay in the top two. A lot of dependents on other results, yes, but I don't think some realise how close this is now.

Can we handle the pressure? I am not so sure.

I’m still angry about the fall off, mostly because I just knew it would happen. For me it’s more because I grew up with Premier League Coventry City and I just want us back there so badly. I said weeks ago I’d never enjoy being top, because when it doesn't happen it'll be horrendous. It's not just us not making, all the shit you then get from other fans etc, but what it means for the club going forward. This is the best chance we will get for a very long time.

I can see us beating Oxford, but I do think we finally lose one to Boro.

Between now and May is going to be horrible.

I see us beating Oxford and Boro will come for a draw. However we won't accept that and stupidly go all out attack and get beat on the counter. That's how predictable we've become
