The issues with our back 4 are mostly down to instruction from our coaching staff. Da Silva and Van Ewijk are constantly caught out of position up field as sometimes are the centre backs
as they are sent forward for set pieces as they are the only decent headers of the ball. Our centre backs have also lost possession too often trying to play killer passes recently when a simple pass into midfield would suffice.
I still maintain that if our strikers were more mobile and better in the air, everyone else wouldn’t have to be doing their frigging job for them.

Where's this KKH coming in at Left Back from? He's been out injured for a while, is he even fit?

He's surely can't be fit enough to start, he wasn't even that good when he played left back, it's just that he was better than Brau. You can't play a right footed left winger and right footed left back. England tried it and you have zero width.

On the game, if KKH is fit i'd go for him and Woolf over Kitching and Dasilva. Those 2 simply do not deserve to keep their place in the team right now. You could extend that to quite a few but that left side has really shit the bed. Onyeka should be straight in too.
But. KKH has never played left back for Lampard.
Is he prepared to pick him in that position ?

He was 5/6 out of 10 before he went off. He did one good thing going forward when he dribbled inside and had a shot, but not a single cross or key pass. The whole team were pretty poor.
was he fuck, you have the right to be wrong though so crack on

Andy Turner

KAINE KESLER-HAYDEN: 5.5/6

The right-back was deployed as a left wing-back and got forward well to help initiate attacks while also keeping tabs on opposite number James Bree. Went off injured.

Most out our player ratings on here had him as a 6. I didn't say he was crap, just average, and it's more than he was being compared to terrible Braus performance the game before thats exaggerated his performance.

Assuming Onyeka signs I’d drop Grimes but not change shape. Kamikaze seems to work at home against teams that aren’t Ipswich even if the football is a bit crap.

Rushworth
MvE Thomas Lats Dasilva
Onyeka Torp
Saka Rudoni EMC/Esse
Wright

Chuck some of our many wingers on and swap strikers at 60/70 mins like always.

I'd be very surprised if Frank Lampard drops Grimes.

Onyeka and Grimes protecting the back 4, stop all these silly goals we keep giving away 🤔

Don’t think you can drop Grimes. With how we build up, don’t feel anyone else we have suits that role.

Would personally start with Grimes and Onyeka as feel both will play to each others strengths and weaknesses well

We have a right winger, with a left foot and a left winger with a right foot! Why is life so confusing?

I think you’re right and Lampard sticks with the 316 in possession, but couple of reasons I’d drop Grimes for this:

- He looks fooked the last few games and in need of a rest. Rather this game than the next one.
- We’re at home and Torps set pieces and general goal threat should come in handy

I do worry in a Grime Onyeka Rudoni midfield we have no right footed set piece taker.

He does need a rest I agree. Would like to see him subbed off a bit earlier around the 60th mark if all is going well for a little bit.

On the second point, you could play Torp in the ten. I think he’d do well in the advanced position and would stay more central meaning we can use his shooting and passing ability.

Could do. I think it would be harsh on Rudi to drop him as he’s starting to show some signs of form though.
