Sounds like they’ve gone quite attacking. Expecting them to press us high and try and get in behind the defence like Leicester were first half on Saturday.

You could see Haji was up for it on Saturday in his 1st couple of minutes on the pitch. I'd give him 30 minutes and if he doesn't show same resolve as against Leicester I'd sub him and give Simms an hour. That would tell him he can't play only when he wants to. No doubt he's the best striker when he's up for it.

There is zero chance of lampard subbing wright after 30 minutes without needing to , would be quite humiliating

He’s not going to make a sub on 30 minutes is he unless it’s enforced

It was more a figure of speech than reality. But his consistency of Hero to Zero is frustrating to say the least. I'm talking about overall play (team contribution) not goals scored.

He played really well when he came on Saturday and I'd say gives us a bit more of solidity thanTorp

I’d be happier if he played at 10, but then he’s not better than Rudi or BTA

and he played ok, but Torp is far better at tracking back, tackling and winning the ball back, and far more creative

wouldn’t agree he’s more solid than Torp, but let’s see how he gets on!

Pleased Eccles is starting. We looked more stable when he came on. Disappointed for Simms, so hopefully Wright can put in the same level as he did on Saturday. Dynamic back 3/4?

Would not be that surprised to see BTA come on for Esse after 65-70 mins.

Some of our good performances early in the season featured Rudoni behind BTA / Wright / EMC.

Sakamoto was very good in his cameo on Saturday but I think he may not get as many minutes for the rest of the season. Whatever happens, we have decent competition for attacking places now.

Train already delayed so I think I’m going to have to risk the laptop in my bag. I do have a secret compartment so it depends if they just look inside or actually scan…..

Team wise, I’d start the same knowing you can swap EMC, Esse, Rudoni, Simms and Torp at 60/70 minutes.
'secret compartment' 🤨

regarding 'looking inside' I don't think they do cavity searches so you should be ok (though your walk may give it away).

Not surprised by the changes. Let’s see if Haji is fired up from the start today.

Very attacking line up from Millwall. Guess they know there will be opportunities in terms of the way we play.

Made the mistake of taking the M6 back to Bedworth from a hospital appt at 6 and now worried I’ll miss kick off

can’t agree with that, and also he only played about 15 mins

I think it’s been said before, but a lot of people miss the amount of work Torp does tracking back and winning the ball back

People saying Simms and Torp have been 'dropped'.

They're being rotated, there's a difference.

That's what a squad is for!

People moan we don't have enough depth and then when changes are made people complain that players have been dropped 😅
Now we have a strong squad it's time to moan about something else so it's lampard lineups now for some.

Has nothing at all to do with Torp, we may have looked safer as Rudoni had come off as well and stopped exposing us in the middle.

Feel for Simms tbh. One good 20 minute cameo gets Wright a start?!

In more important news / for anyone who cares - secret compartment FTW! Laptop in with time for a pint!

I couldn't agree more with this.
