Got half an eye on Hull too. Playing really well and some favourable games coming up

I guess things like when the Millwall player had the whole pitch to square it to his striker in but still fucked it don't count towards xG though do they.

They don't, but nor will MVE failing to pick Esse out unmarked in the box.

You've got a player who's used to our system , up to the pace of the game and has strength and physicality in spades to help out at both ends and you don't think it's a gamble to bring on a young player on debut who's been with us a week
We'll agree to disagree on that one

It's 10 minutes he'd be on for - when would he come on then?

Sorry to repeat but we need someone who can come on for Grimes, that will tighten up the defence as he becomes tired, because he is knackered. If we get this Brentford lad he is able to slot into the back line to make an extra defender when the opposition are pressing.

What a player Sakamoto is, made all the difference, he's the reason we won the game.

Christ on a bike. What was that. 20 minutes of that second half was like watching a heavily pissed team play. Midfield optional.

As already said by others, the depth of the bench is going to have such a positive impact as we go into the run in.

Osmajic of Preston is just back from a ten match ban and he gets a straight red for headbutting an opponent off the ball

In the last 5 minutes of the game EMC made a huge tackle tracking back and then set up BTA.
Don't understand the desperation to bring on a player who hasn't been with us long
Can totally understand why Lampard didn't

He's not going to last a full 90 and I think he'll be more effective being on at the end of the game and playing against more fatigued players.

Having said that I'd still drop Rudoni and play Grimes, Torp, Eccles from the start.

Grimes had a shocker tonight but I refuse to believe he will play that badly for the rest of the season, nor do I expect him to be rotated in and out of the side.

18 left 9 wins. Doesn't look crazy when you would expect another run of good form at some point

Imagine being a championship defender having to deal with Esse for 70 mins. You think thank fuck it's over when he comes off only for sakamoto to come on

He wasn't shocking but he was below par . I think we have to allow for dips in form and with Grimes it's a very high bar he's dipping from

Sakamoto getting lots of deserved praise but it's the ability to bring him on fresh against tired legs that has made him look this good.

Esse would look similarly brilliant in the same situation.

It's fantastic we've got the reinforcements needed.

Unless we get someone in who can help share the burden with him he's still going to be tired, and still make the mistakes he's made the last few matches.

Ipswich’s remaining fixtures are rough - five away games in February, then Birmingham, Southampton and Middlesbrough in April. You can see them hitting their stride and breezing through all of them (which would obviously be bad news for Boro) but you would much rather have our remaining fixtures than theirs.

Not desperation just the fact EMC has played 180 mins in 4 days.

Millwall deserved at least a point, but having these options off the bench which we didn't before is already showing its value. Won't get any easier next week with Norwich now out of the bottom 3 for the first time in ages

I never said he'd play a full 90 minutes. But he deserves a start/70 mins ahead of Rudoni at this point.

Yeah you're right, that's the big puzzle for me, is Rudoni told to play out there, if not sort it Frank.
