Would love a City Bristol final. Though would be extra annoying to lose to a “worthy” team again and have to be all magnanimous and shit. At least I can hate Sheff Utd after.

Giving yet another team their first crack at the Prem would be a bit wounding. Better than losing to Wilder, Hamer, O'Hare and the Blunt army though.

You'll be late to the party then. Some of us (me) have hated them since they were singing for SISU in league one

Yep, the majority of the City is buzzing. Not sure about the blue few

The best would be watching Hamer & O'Hare cry on the pitch while we sing "could have been you" after spanking them.

It took me longer to recover from that result than any other.
I think it was only when we beat Wolves last season in the quarters that I could finally let it go.

I still can’t…. The dislike has gone further watching them regularly play against us in the early 2000s, then the league one needle when we lost to them in the 98th minute.

Also remember when McEvely nearly snapped Lameiras in half. They’ve just been a horrible thuggy club for a good time. They’re even unlikeable under Wilder.

That being said - I’m glad we finished 5th. They’d beat us over 2 legs every time. At least in the final it’s a one off game where it’s whoever turns up

I wasn't allowed to stay up to listen to the end so my parents wrote the end result (in sky blue crayon as if that would make it easier to accept!) and put it on my bedside table.

Funnily enough I was arguing with someone about that last week. Along with his goals his versatility should have took him.

he could easily slot in at CB if they were defending a lead and if they blew it - throw him up top.

mill Die in the hill he should have been 3rd striker in that squad

It's not difficult to see why it happens.
I had to tell myself to take deep breaths at one point Saturday.
Was talking to a mate post game Saturday who's slightly older than me, early 60s, and he said he was in a right state at one point.

Yeh I didn't enjoy Saturday much at all until the second. Don't get stressed leading up to games like that, but once it kicks off I'm a wreck. The play offs won't be an enjoyable experience for me to be honest.

Surprised it’s not been picked up, but Bidwells reaction to the first goal is brilliant. Pure emotion, passion and celebration. It’s always good to see.

The fact it’s him on his own clenching his fists caveman style is pretty apt for Bidwell too!

It was him or Michael Owen if I remember right?

He assisted Michael Owen for a goal in a friendly before the world cup and they took Owen instead. Which to be fair turned out ok

Les Ferdinand, Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown didn’t play a minute between them.

Would of took him over Les Ferdinand to be fair.

Rio made sense as he was a young player obviously going to have a great career.

My theory at the time was that if they had taken Dion, they could also have taken Gascoigne as Dublin was more versatile than the Ferdinands and Owen (or Keown for that matter). Would have covered several positions with one individual allowing flexibility to use Gazzer in the starting line up of matches or as a substitute.
