Fingers crossed for 2 draws.
Struggling to see anything beyond that at the moment.
Mind you my predictions were pre tank.

I don't know if the BBC have done their manager dirty here but:

"I'm always trying to find a team a way for us to play the way we want to play against. That's always the first thing."

If that is the always first thing, and it makes no sense, god knows how his team talks go. Controlled chaos indeed.

I think it will all rely on how we approach the game. Approach it like Ipswich, where we basically let them control the game because we seemed to think they were better than us, we lose. Approach it like recent games with FB's standing on the toes of wingers and midfield so high Grimes is a one man midfield we lose.

However, with Onyeka coming in I think we might find a decent midpoint. Grimes next to him to pull the strings, giving the likes of Rudoni a bit more space (though please get him to stay more central!). They've got a decent midfield though so we need all of them to be at their best.

Ask the FB's to not be quite so cavalier and we've got a decent chance. Still not sure if I'd go with Esse to try and unlock their defence early, or Saka to give us a more solid base. Hopefully EMC is back too. Probably start Wright up front but FL has to be willing to drag him off at half time if he's having a game where he looks like he can't be bothered.

Let's talk about this "Hoodoo"
Hasn't it only been about 4 years or something!?

That is just a "bit of a rough patch"

These are "hoodoo's"

We, CCFC - have NEVER won a league game at Preston in the Whole HISTORY of the club.

We, CCFC haven't won at Norwich in over 20 years.

Now they are hoodoo's!!
Preston I'll give you, that's pure sorcery right there. Stone cold Hoodoo.

With Norwich, you'd have to look at how many times you faced them and also how many games were draws and how many losses. It could well qualify as a bonefide Hoodoo mind.

With you being ours, it may only go back 6 games, but it's more the fact that every single one was a loss, home and away too. Bristol City is also a valid one, we're terrified of facing them. What form we're in for that one doesn't matter a shiny shite either.

The biggest Hoodoo that took a while to end was that despite spending our entire history in the top 2 divisions barring 2 separate years in what is now League One, it took us 128 years to win our first ever major trophy, giving us the unwanted title of "Best club to have won fuck all." Every time we looked like we would something got in the way, we'd have giant killings and complete domination through the cups, before going out in the later rounds against some smaller club that would play like Brazil against us before being dispatched casually in the next round OR be the better side against a big club that would absolutely spawn a win. Twice we looked like winning the league, improving in the years previous and finally being tipped to win it for the first time...In 1914/15 and 1939/40.

Even the Germans joined in to kick us in the nuts on those ones. If we ever look remotely like winning the Prem, which certainly isn't right now, it may be wise to invest in bunkers.

Tonight for us SHOULD be about putting as many points between us and third. It's what the majority of our fans are focussed on. But in the back of all our minds, even getting a draw would be a HUGE relief to us...As it means a Hoodoo has been eradicated or at the very least diminished. Which considering that we could miss out on promotion, but it's still actually possible that we go up, but do so with yourselves AND Bristol City (less likely, but would be Typical Boro), a Hoodoo banished could well end up being monumental.

It would be nice to think that he is close to being ready to play for us, although I don’t think this is the game for him to make his debut unless we are 3 up with 10 minutes to go.

I do think that having Onyeka in to anchor things, will give Rudoni more time and space to flourish a bit more.

I think every fan of every team has a bit of this. I hear people say this about Cov all the time, also look at Spurs and Arsenal and so many other teams who say they always do it the hard way. I think that's just football. When we were top and seemingly running away with it, I was still convinced we would balls it up. People were constantly putting up stats and facts that said we couldn't fail from here but I think all of us knew we could.

The way some people are on here, it could be the last game of the season and we could be 7 points ahead and still some would be very nervous .

14 games to go after this one. Have we really lost the chance of autos? Not fucking likely, Boro certainly won’t win every game til the end, so stop bigging the fuckers up so much, they’ve only been top for a week

Hated the waiting around, hated the build up and will hate the 90 mins - But these are the games you become a football fan for I guess

Putting the white flag waving and the pessimism to one side, we need to get the place bouncing tonight - A win here and things all of a sudden start to look rosy again

Will be a night where most neutrals will be wanting Boro to come here and do a job on us, big statement needed to show them we aren't giving this up easily

Come on the Sky Blues!!!!!!!!!

I think tonight will be an entertaining game between two good sides that will highlight how good the league can be. Be happy with a draw and then may the best side win on the run in. If we get a draw, as much as I would like a win, the players will take confidence from going toe to toe with their biggest rivals and move forward. Its a confidence thing, if we dont come out of our shells and take a big loss then its play offs unfortunately.

I hope Lampard and the squad don't have the attitude some supporters seem to have because the current 'we're in an automatic spot' could very quickly become 'we're in the play offs' before coming 'oh shit, we've fucked this right up'.

For all the talk of record number of points, no team failing from this point and only needing to maintain half decent form we've seen how quickly a lead can evaporate. That gap from 7th does not in anyway feel insurmountable at the moment and the more points we drop the more the teams below us will believe its on for them.

From what i see on Twitter/X, firstly, its full of absolute cretins. Secondly those from other clubs that do engage regularly, as well as being stupid generally, seem to judge our whole fan base off of rage bait tweets from the same 5 or so of the absolute worst regular CCFC posters.
I still stand firmly by the fact Birmingham have the largest amount of clueless, deluded fuckwits quite comfortably mind.
