Huge amounts of over-confidence on the Boro forum. Like some were on here when we were miles clear.

Feels better to be chasing to me. I think as a fanbase, we are better suited to it. I think if the early signs of the game are that we are in it and up for it, the atmosphere will be a cracker. Could be a big factor in the game.

Come on City!
We are being chased though. Very closely

Never understood this. If we aren't chasing we're top. Surely that's far better?

Yes on a basic level, I agree, of course it's better to be top. But as the past 2 months have shown, the team/staff couldn't handle it and the fans haven't handled it.

It feels more natural (to me at least) to be chasing. I think the mentality of having another team as a target is better suited to us than us having a points target.

Morning All

Bricking it

That is all
Haha.

Feels like a season defining game for us.

We have been very average (at best - despite what some might say) since the beginning of December.

I want to go... Looking forward to it...
But then I'm not!... I'm bricking it too ...

Want to go because it could be great!
But really, it could be worryingly shit!

The thought of us blowing the biggest lead the Championship has ever seen is VERY real!

Morning troops , biggest game of the season since the last one . I’ve been confident all week and that’s disappeared.

We need to win our next 2 games in my opinion.
Of course mathematically we don't, but I think physcologically we do.

We haven't dropped points in successive home games since the early days of Lampards reign and I think it would be a huge blow to do it now.

As for Saturday, we've got to get our away form back on track or we can forget the autos. Huge week.

I'm more confident about tonight than Saturday.

I can see two draws.

Things would be extremely tight if that happened - particularly many people's sphincters!!

Anybody know why the match thread is not showing on the general chat page (for me anyway) I’ve had to search for it

You’ve muted AFCCoventry

Really looking forward to tonight. Recent form obvs favours them but we can play better than we have shown of late, Boro can no doubt play worse too.
So proud of Cov that we are in a top of the table battle tonight rather than just some mid table mediocracy dead rubber that no-one cares about. It's proper exciting stuff! I've really enjoyed us being written off too by most of the pundits for this match. Real chance tonight to rewrite the script again.

Also can't wait to see Onyeka. Just when Grimes came in during the last Jan transfer window and looked a big upgrade in midfield we get to see Frank tonight who has 70+ prem appearances, 30+ Budesliga, a full Nigerian international. Hopefully he will be a next level for our squad.

We are strong at home so obviously a win is possible. I feel that Boro are flying after 6 straight wins, full of confidence and will start well. I can see them going 0-1 up so for me, it’s whether we can wrestle control and come back. I can see us conceding so we need 2-3 goals I think.

What I am kind of pinning hope on, is it being a bogey ground for them rather than us performing unfortunately.

I have no doubt they’re a good side and will cause us a lot of problems tomorrow. But have to say, I’ve enjoyed reading their forum. I’ll no doubt eat these words, but you wouldn’t know we were playing against Morris, Hackney and Alan Browne… reading what they’re saying you couldn’t be blamed if you thought we were staring down the barrel of Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi. Calm down lads. You’ve been top for 6 days.
However good we play tonight we're hardly going to be prime Barca🤣

There's a mixed feeling amongst us tbh. We're generally confident in our squad's abilities and the methods of Hellball, but we can't predict A) What version of yourselves will turn up and B) What the Hoodoo has in store?

As good as our recent form and performances have been, the mentality that this is Boro who never do things the easy way and are prone to kicking you in the knackers is a bloody hard one to shift.

I really need this to be a win today - something amazing like a wright hattrick, or torp from distance, of a bobby header in the 96th min

Exactly this

Even a six game winning streak all i can think of is the next loss. Its a terrible attitude but hard to shift after years of 'typical Boro' kicking you up the backside.

Let's talk about this "Hoodoo"
Hasn't it only been about 4 years or something!?

That is just a "bit of a rough patch"

These are "hoodoo's"

We, CCFC - have NEVER won a league game at Preston in the Whole HISTORY of the club.

We, CCFC haven't won at Norwich in over 20 years.

Now they are hoodoo's!!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure our win there in the POs was the first time we'd beaten them away.
