Coventry City look set to unveil Tony Mowbray as their new manager tomorrow before heading to Barnsley to continue their relegation fight.
The former West Brom, Celtic and Middlesbrough manager was locked in talks with club officials most of today but the Telegraph understand that some details were still to be finalised.
The agenda would presumably have included discussions on length of contract, budget and perhaps, crucially, backroom staff.
The Sky Blues already have Neil MacFarlane and Dave Hockaday in place following the departure of Steven Pressley last week but Mowbray might prefer to bring in his own men such as long-term associates Mark Venus – who has been his right-hand man at The Hawthorns, Celtic Park and The Riverside – and Mark Proctor who was first team coach with him at Boro.

It appears likely the 51-year-old will take a watching brief in the stands for Tuesday’s trip to Oakwell, with MacFarlane and Hockaday continuing to take the team after preparing them for the League One clash at Ryton today.
As revealed exclusively in the Coventry Telegraph last week, Mowbray is keen on succeeding Steven Pressley and views City as a great opportunity to stabilise the club and drive it back to where it belongs.
He was the first person interviewed for the job and was approached by chief executive Steve Waggott rather than applying for the post.

I think it was pretty obvious from MacFarlane's interviews that he's not planning on sticking around. Hopefully it will all be sorted for the morning.

Is Mowbray negotiating his pay off settlement clause, before he signs?
